Very nice hike. The road in is rough so a Awd/4wd car is likely a requirement.

This is a short but enjoyable trail. The views of the Rio Grande Gorge are spectacular as at times the canyon drops off right next to the trail all the way down to the river.I would suggest a afternoon hike as the light is spectacular.

It’s a beautiful hike with great views of the Rio Grande canyon and river and the Hot Springs are warm, small but beautiful

Pros: Beautiful views, manageable hike, great wildlife spot (We saw a herd of bighorn sheep)
Cons: Can be crowded if you go at the wrong time. Water is more warm than hot. You need a truck or SUV to get there. The road is rough.

Easy, quiet hike. Lots of previous animal activity in the area...watch where you step when you are near the river!

More of an access road than a hiking trail. A lot of indications of human activity as it serves as a storage area for the resort. The river is pretty but we drove 40 minutes from Taos to get here and wished we had chosen another hike.

Trial itself is nothing to write home about but the site is very interesting with pottery artifacts all over. You need a lot of imagination because there are no ruins.

Very pleasant short hike. Unspoiled.

More of a stroll. Lovely pre soaking activity.

Beautiful hike, albeit rocky at times, but worth it for beautiful hot springs , views, and proximity to the Rio Grande

Super easy trail with some beautiful vistas of the Rio Grande river ending in a sweet hot spring pool.

Great relaxing spot, watch out for the tarantulas. Pools are not too hot.

Easy trail with some beautiful color changes and river/small lake. About half way is a cute barn that has been certified as a historic building. Recommend it for a quick walk to relax.

Very nice trail to hike. Took mountain bikes to ride but had to hike with them part of the way. Came across a herd of mountain gots which made the rockiness worth it. View at end of trail is amazing.

The trail was fine. Getting down to the springs and back up is easy enough. A disappointing amount of trash and old clothes are strewn about all around the springs, as well as dog poop on the trail. Met a few nice people at the bottom. If you have a couple extra hours, and don't want to go too far from Taos, give it a shot. Once was probably enough for me.

So I didn't have high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised on a Sunday morning. nobody around but a friendly naked artist, quiet, warm. very relaxing after having climbed Wheeler the day before.

This is a nice trail that shows you the lower portion of the rio grande del Norte. Bonus to my hike is that I came a cross a big horn sheep grazing about 10 yards off of the trail. He watched me with caution but didn't run off.

This is an easy, flat hike along the rim of the Rio Grande Gorge starting at the back of the rest area. The TH is marked. You can hike as much or little as desired. We turned at 1.7 miles, just because we were at a pretty photo spot to make the return trip. Good for all ages. Bring water, especially if a hot day.

Beautiful, relatively flat hike. It's the desert and totally exposed, so keep that in mind. We started around 11am and it was HOT. It's mostly unimpressive scrub until the very end, where you get an incredible view of the Rio Grande from thousands of feet above.

Hiked down about an hour after sunset. Trail is fairly steep with snowpack and rocks, but very doable with good footwear. Great view of the stars from the bottom of the canyon. Hot springs were warm, but too cold to go in at night.

Note: 4 wheel drive is required to access trailhead in the winter. We had to park about .5 miles down the road and walk to the trailhead because of the road conditions.

The Gorge is Gorgeous!

This trail offers a breathtaking view all the way from its beginning to the end. It is not a loop, so you have to retrace your steps back to the parking lot. Caution should be exercised while hiking due to very strong winds. Otherwise, it's a great easy hike with the gorgeous landscape.
