beautiful in fall

Good hike to do, specially after if rainfall to be able to see waterfall. Also easy enough to hike not too strenuous. Enjoyed it.

Beautiful! Hiked the trail a few days after a heavy rain and sound of running water was everywhere. Waterfalls were gorgeous. Moderate trail not well marked, but very enjoyable.

near city, limited rocks

I love this trail, the best on my visit here! I had heard about it from someone I met on another trail and he gave me directions to turn at the dumpsters but no name for the trail. I found this trail on the app and compared the directions and knew it was where he was talking about! It was absolutely beautiful, a little difficult at times and had I not ran into three people who were headed on the trail just as I arrived I most likely would not have done it alone. Eventually we all ended up hiking together and it was totally amazing and I made new friends! We went round a couple of loops and hiked across the canyon to some caves which extended our hike, and according to my maps it ended up being around 7 1/2 miles.

This is our kids favorite trail to hike.

Fantastic trail!!

good trail... harder to find trailhead but realized it was through the residential area. only saw one other couple. Great 5 mile hike.

This is one of my favorite trails, beautiful landscape with canyons and rock formations.

The views were great.

Slightly tricky to find trailhead, it's near the group sites, and the trail fades in and out a bunch and is somewhat overgrown. My legs were a little scraped up from the overgrowth. however it had some great views. if I were to do it again, I would take the Sugarloaf route at the sign as the route more towards pine crest loop trail wasn't as interesting.

This was our first hike as a family and we loved it! Beautiful scenery and not too hard, though I'd definitely recommend wearing good shoes. The waterfalls and Stone ruin are so worth it! We saw a variety of birds and have seen Mule Deer every time so far. Well traveled trail, but very Rocky in places.

Tip: if you're going after the waterfall and Stone house, follow the trail to the LEFT until AFTER the bench...we went RIGHT at the first fork and ended up going the LONG way around haha

why pay $5 for dripping springs when you can come right next door to soledad canyon for free?! it has better views and a better waterfall as well. I highly recommend this trail.

This is the second time I have done this beautiful trail and again I loved hiking and admiring the mountains and rocks of this wonderful place. The trail is long but it is worth it, I enjoyed a lot.

Awesome trail! Great one to do early in the AM and to take visiting friends and family. I'd go on it again.

definitely moderate difficulty & poorly marked but gorgeous views

Fun pretty hike but no "trail" as shown. 1st 1 1/2 mi. IS the "Ridgline Trail". Then bushwacking down one canyon and up another then bushwack up the canyon wall to the jeep trail then some jeep trails and some canyon bushwacking. The All Trails route is a nice doable route with the GPS and topos but no trail

awesome trail, close to town ! a banger

great hike to get reacquainted with the beautiful desert. Great views n colors!

Fun trail. Popular trails

Loved it. went a couple months ago and it was great with the different terrain throughout. It was a very windy day and I lost my favorite cap.

Great up and down easy. Blue sky everywhere!

Very nice easy hike. Got a little adventurous and took a more difficult trail up to a cave in the mountain along the way. One of my favorite hikes in the Organ Mountains.

This is one of my favorite trails. Easy to find when you connect the All Trails app to your maps app on your phone. The hike is well laid out, but a little tricky going back down due to some loose gravel areas. My 5 year old son was able to complete the trail and loved reaching the “top”. The summit is worth it! I strongly suggest bringing a walking stick or grabbing one left at the trailhead.

Amazing! Great trail, kids had a blast and not too strenuous! If you like geocaching there a some great ones along the trail!

Just a reminder, Tortugas Mountain is considered a very Sacred Place for us of Tortugas Pueblo. We have been conducting ceremonies upon her for over 100 continuous years. We, Tortugas Pueblo, ask everyone to please keep that in their mind and their heart while trekking upon her. Our ancestors have climbed it in prayer, as we too, continue the same. Some on their knees or in bare feet. Please be mindful of disposing of trash properly. Blessing to all who come to enjoy her beauty and gentle Spirit.

Good hike! Be sure to wear fairly sturdy shoes, sunscreen and hat. Lots of birds in the arroyos! The old A mountain trail that goes 3/4 up to the top is a helluva workout and newer road is appreciated for the return down.
