First time here and it couldn’t have been better! Easy enough my wife and mother finished it, yet challenging enough that my cousin and I were able to enjoy it. We went at two different paces which makes it great for all levels of experience.

definitely moderate difficulty & poorly marked but gorgeous views

Love this Hike! The views from above the Sanatorium are amazing!

Great trail! Not to be taken lightly though. My friend and I took our 3 dogs expecting it to be much easier than it was and ended up using all of our water on our dogs and not much on our selves. But still a great hike and amazing views!

I love it. Going up the trail, is quite a workout. Great views to enjoy.

Fun pretty hike but no "trail" as shown. 1st 1 1/2 mi. IS the "Ridgline Trail". Then bushwacking down one canyon and up another then bushwack up the canyon wall to the jeep trail then some jeep trails and some canyon bushwacking. The All Trails route is a nice doable route with the GPS and topos but no trail

Great two hour hike in late afternoon.

Well-maintained trail with spectacular views of the mountains. The drive to the trailhead is worth the trip alone. 95% of the trail is in full sun, but there are patches of shade to rest in. Dog friendly and lots of birds.

Very tough, physically demanding...not for the inexperienced. But totally worth it!!!

awesome trail, close to town ! a banger

Great hike with a variety of scenery. Trail starts in the desert and scrub, but by the halfway point you're in a nice forested area with plenty of shade. Great wildlife to photograph, as well!

great hike to get reacquainted with the beautiful desert. Great views n colors!

Fun trail. Popular trails

Great hiking trail. Straight up, crazy trail

Graveled trail

Loved it. went a couple months ago and it was great with the different terrain throughout. It was a very windy day and I lost my favorite cap.

An amazing but strenuous hike!! It took us about 10 hours round trip, with lots of resting and relaxing up at the top. It is definitely physically demanding on the way up and especially on the way down. We got lost/off trail a few times but made it back down. Follow the trail markers and make mental notes on the way up so you remember how to get back down with limited bushwhacking and scrambling. I’d advise wearing pants for sure and taking about a gallon of water each person and food/snacks. Be careful of rattlesnakes and stinging metal. The views are amazing and definitely worth the endurance.

What a gem! The views are fantastic wherever you look! The hike was challenging at times with large rocks to navigate. Be prepared by wearing good hiking boots as part of the trail is quite slippery due to sand and small stones. Numerous points along the trail to stop and appreciate! Found that going to the left or clockwise is preferable. Hope to return again for sure

Great morning hike!! Some areas were a little challenging for my dog, but overall it's a beautiful hike! Lots of shaded areas to stop and rest and take in the amazing views!

Great view of the Organ mountains and a nice variety of terrain. Enough elevation to be a workout, but nothing that would prohibit the whole family from enjoying.

Beautiful hike. It was crazy to see such greenery in the desert. Some great views. Hike was fairly moderate. At the start of the trail if you go right first it is a little more challenging cause u are climbing and if you go left first it is a steady climb but subtle.

Absolutely love this hike. Love going to the end and seeing the old sanatorium and the hotel camp. Very easy hike. The Spring is not Dripping but still very pretty and interesting to see history in the mountains.

Awesome, challenging hike. I did this back in March. Took me 5 hrs round trip, but I’d plan for an all day hike and pack accordingly. On the first third of the ascent, At approximately 32.339365 N, and 106.584949 W, there is a fork in the trail, and they both look good. Take the right fork (steer towards the large boulder up ahead). This will save you a lot of bushwhacking or backtracking. After the first third to half of the ascent, the trail is easier to follow. Wear pants.

Easy hike. The lodge was interesting.Wind can make it a little more difficult.

The trail was interesting, flowering Cacti and stunning rock formations and desert landscape. Was mostly in the sun the entire hike which was as noted: moderate, it was long for me as I am not an avid hiker. Never saw rattlesnake or much of any wildlife creatures, beetles...heard an owl and until I returned near to the parking lot, was greeted by cows' and a bull blocking, for a moment... the path. Some areas of the hike slowed me down as it was more difficult terrain, and on the way back lost the trail but after testing a few I found my way. at what I understood to be the end of the trail, A flat area with beautiful views overlooking the White Sands base and beyond as well Las Cruces and beyond. I noticed somewhat of a trail continuing up to a higher peak and I attempted to follow, I got about 3/4 of the way up it and had to throw in the towel... UGH ! I slid coming down and scraped myself up abit. The trail going back was not much faster as it is gravelly and cumbersome. I only rested about 15 minutes the entire trail... I started at 1:20 and returned at 7:40, I'm 61 and in So-so shape...I brought fruit and water, found a hiking stick along the way. Binoculars would have been nice. Wear a hat and use Sunscreen. cell phone worked always-Verizon anyway.

This is one of my favorite trails. Easy to find when you connect the All Trails app to your maps app on your phone. The hike is well laid out, but a little tricky going back down due to some loose gravel areas. My 5 year old son was able to complete the trail and loved reaching the “top”. The summit is worth it! I strongly suggest bringing a walking stick or grabbing one left at the trailhead.

Beautiful hike! Haven't hiked in a while. This hike was a bit difficult going up but with plenty of hydration and energy snacks, we made it through.
