Great for the dogs and a good breath catcher with the kiddo on the backpack! Beautiful views of Wheeler Peak and a nice loop! Even better in the snow!

Well marked trail system where you can connect to several trails to individualize the length. Mostly non-technical trails with some gentle inclines, but you can definitely feel the altitude if you aren’t used to it.

The trail is a nice little challenge and the views are pretty along the way. My only criticism is that it really isn’t easy. Trail while smooth mostly, can be both muddy and jagged in places, and thee 600 foot incline is probably too much of a challenge for many on both the young and elderly side of the family.

This was a wonderful trail that I really enjoyed it and would do again it was quite steep going up and coming down the trail was fairly narrow and the dirt was fairly smooth and at times hard to climb up and slide down but the views were absolutely fantastic many aspen trees wonderful wonderful views of the peaks in the surrounding area

Pretty trail within the greater Angel Fire Metropolitan Region. It's a good trail for a family hike with youngsters. Or it's good for a walk by yourself to get some head space for a couple hours, without driving 30 minutes from wherever you're staying in AF.

8/21/18, trail is clear and dry.

Hiked the deer and cutover to the lynx trail earlier in the month, but did this entire trail just a few days ago. Trail had a few elevated paths, but the majority is easy. It is a solid 4.7 miles, so it’s a great walk/hike. Had to watch for a few mountain bikers, otherwise it was relatively quiet with the exception of passing a couple of other hikers.

Nice, easy pace. You can continue onto other trails, or you can shorten your hike at certain points. We took the Deer trail to the Lynx trail because we could see rain and eventually hear thunder in the distance. This is a nice option and allowed us to complete our hike before the storm hit. Not difficult at all. Easy with kids and our leashes dog.
Pretty views.

Great hike, very few obstacles. Moderately steep at times. but the trailbed is pretty flat, so easy footing.

Because it is a short trail and marked “easy” we thought there wouldn’t be a lot of effort but there is a lot of uphill on the long loop with lovely views of Wheeler peak. Nice to have water on the way down for our dog. Highly recommend this trail.

Easy to moderate trail.

Marked as Easy, but definitely some moderate climbing. Spectacular trees and beautiful views of Angel Fire. A great hike!

This was a great loop, especially after a fresh snow! I was ready to discount it since it's rated easy and starts in the golf resort, but it was a beautiful secluded hike that climbed more than I expected. YakTracks were plenty for the snow

Was a nice trail. A little steep going up to the right but levels off In places. Lower trail next to creek was very easy and pretty. Nice views.

Steep at the top but quickly levels off to moderate. Continue across Domingo to Lower Free Flight for fun rollers and curves, all the way to where it joins up with Domingo for the rest of the way to the base area.

This trail has a lot of twist and turns throughout the area. Always be on the lookout for the unexpected. Keep a close eye on bear watch because they can be just as curious as we are. Bear spray is a staple just as foods would be. Beautiful beyond your wildest dreams, with breath taking landscapes. Watch for plants that can be or will rub you and make you itch. The Cimarron Lake is spectacular. Just enjoy the hike and the skies at night light up in a way that will have you dreaming of more.

Thanks
Jess
