Great views of Albuquerque from the top. To hike this loop specifically takes a bit of attention to the map as there are lots of other trails that could lead you astray. This was my first hike in the area and definitely not disappointed!

easy grade, I wish I'd have had time to go farther...I'll definitely be back

Great hike to challenge yourself. The extra .4 miles in the middle of the trail is definitely worth the view. Thanks Kevin for hiking such a tough yet short trail. We started on the trail northeast and ended on trail southwest. Worth every minute of it.

Easy, well-marked trail. Not much shade.

Easy and fun hike - especially in the morning... cool breeze and very few people! I can't imagine doing this trail in the summer time - you would probably get heat stroke very quickly.

Lovely desert open space. My kids bikes while I hiked. Perfect location for both. Lots of intertwined trails with picnic spots and well marked trails.

Sandy entire trail

Great hike , shorter but quite nice if you are trying to get acustkmed to the elevation. I drove from Florida so this was a nice entry. The last bit of the hike to the peaks can be rather technical.

Nice trail, amazing views! This hike is rated “easy” on All Trails and I’d definitely say it’s “moderate”. It is a steep uphill climb for at least the first mile. Just wanted to share so others know what they’re getting in to!

highly recommend, great seeing so many petroglyphs! Kid friendly too, not very busy for a Saturday morning.

Great hike, relatively moderate until you split off of piedra Lisa. Then it becomes much more difficult. Scrambling at the top but well worth it!

Great trail if you are looking for a challenge. A few miles of the trail isn’t shaded at all. This is a trail I would not take my husky since they are sensitive to heat and a lot of the trail wasn’t shaded. There was a bunch of people on this trail which made it less peaceful but the views of the city are beautiful.

Mostly good, except for a real rocky couple miles near the top. The ankle twisting potential is high. My route from the trailhead to the tram, along the crest trail, down the spur and back via La Luz was about 16.5 miles. Took about 6 hrs

Absolutely beautiful trail. I'm still getting used to the dry heat and altitude of NM so I don't recommend this for your first hike like I did - oops! Made it about 3 miles in before turning around, but it was still a lot of fun. Beautiful views of the mountains and city. Wear light clothing, bring a hat, and lots of sunscreen. A camelback is a must have.

Fun and gorgeous trail! Started at 8:30am and made it through 90% of the trail. Finished around 1:15pm with a few breaks. Around mile 3 the trail narrows and it becomes hard to social distance (just FYI for Covid). Good mix of shade and sun. Saw a few other hikers and dogs. Trail is not safe for your dog to be off leash. The trail is way too narrow and has steep drop-offs that make it dangerous for an off-leash dog. The last ~0.5 miles narrows substantially and I couldn’t get up with my dog. Otherwise, an extremely lovely hike that is challenging in some parts and has lots of nice views. Parking is is $3.
