This trail passes through land that is protected. A ranger stopped us at the top of the cliff and had us return to the main trail. Do not use.

If you have the time while in ABQ, it's worth a trip. There is a stunning view of the city and Sandias. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water. Well maintained paths, adequate signage.

Nicely maintained, steady hike. There’s no shade whatsoever, so bring a good hat, cover up, and wear sunscreen. Also, there were tons and tons of millipedes all along the trail when I went, so if you’re not into that seeing tons of creepy crawlers, then keep that in mind.

The trail literally goes up and down and you see two or three petroglyphs it’s not hard at all three minutes if you just want to look

Relatively flat with a couple minor hills. Pretty easy to follow. Best to go early before the sun hits it peak.

Pretty steep going up Oso Ridge but beautiful views, definitely worth the effort. Lightly trafficked.

Pretty easy trail working it’s way up the hillside and back down. Quite a few petroglyphs visible from the trail.

Mostly shaded trail good for the whole family. Few spots along the trail to get in the water. Sandy, well marked good time close to town away from everything. Lots of bikers on the trailer. Had to park in neighborhood because we do not have New Mexico license.

My fiancé and I took Embudito up to South peak which was great but I do NOT recommend taking Oso Ridge on the way down. It is INCREDIBLY steep. I’m talking an 80 degree decline for the first mile and a half, and it doesn’t get much better. Incredibly overgrown with very little traction. I would not recommend doing this trail without sticks.

Not a maintained trail. Large parts of the trail are unmarked and hard to navigate. Make sure to wear long pants so you don’t get scratched all of your legs.

Coming down the Oso Ridge side had more steepness (less cutbacks) and more loose gravel. Suggest to have poles to help or come up that way. Lots of views and lots of white and yellow daisies.

Do Oso Ridge going up and Embudito coming back. Oso is a lung burner going up but an unstable ankle busting mess coming down. YMMV IMHO.

Ok so first off you’re not aloud to bike this trail. Regardless of what the app says I was approached by two “volunteers” that reminded me that it wasn’t aloud since they have nothing better to do during a pandemic I suppose I was in the wrong but get a life it’s a beautiful day I wasn’t riding like a maniac and AllTrails fix your data also I’d love it if they’d let us ride these trails they are big enough for everyone can’t wrap my head around why we can’t but rules are rules

Easy, well maintained trail. Took my 9 and 5 year olds with me and they did fine. 5 year old slipped a couple of times but no harm done. Moderate traffic but not overly crowded.
