A little wet on the upper part of the trail, but great views throughout the hike. Loved the rock scrambling required at on the shoreline trail. With the trees being leaf free this time of the year, we were able to see some great views of the cliffs from below.

Was a very nice hike. Definitely a challenge right now due to snow coverage that is melting. Trail is slippery so hiking boots with really good traction or metal spikes are suggested. Beautiful view once you hit the top!

I did a 7-mile loop which included the Lookout Trail and a portion of Cannonball Run in a good amount of snow. The trails are well-marked and there were a lot of great views along Lookout.

We went out on this trail after a huge storm and it was absolutely amazing! I can only imagine how beautiful it is when everything is green and in bloom. The difficulty and time needed to complete the hike increased a bit due to the amount of snow which had accumulated, but it was more than worth the effort. The view is perfect!

Started at the alpine boat basin to make it an 8-9 mile trip. Views on top of the palisades were nice. Lots of litter though. Heavily trafficked areas. Took 6 hours for the extended loop. Navigating the rocky parts was slow. Really muddy and slushy on the long path at the top. Good workout.

Great hike. Was here the Saturday after the nor'easter storm. Could not complete the red loop to many downed trees. But, there was evidence that the trail was being cleared - to many trees down for a quick fix. Will be back to try again!

More of a nice walk on a sunny day; not a hike; also not the cleanest or most remote area ... crowded too. BUT the falls make for a great view and photos raising it to two stars

Great morning hike for February!
My friend and I really enjoyed everything this trail offer, the “stairs” the waterfall , the workout! In 3 hours and of course the views.

Went in the summer. Great rock scrambling and views of the Hudson

Nice hike. I wish that the all trails map showed the other adjoining trails

Trail currently closed due to construction

Very pretty. View of NYC skyline was cool. This hike is as good as any in the lower ADKs and one of my fave Jersey hikes.

Lame trail, most of it’s paved. Hate i wested my time.

nice easy hike, great views, rock scramble along Hudson is fun.

Great trail, there are quite a few parts that have a nice view, some steep spots but overall an easy hike.

I first stopped at the Chimney Rock entrance and realized I was on the total opposite end of the park than buttermilk falls. I drove over to the other slide and found the entrance. The small toad to the parking lot is small (one way only really) and full of HUGH pot holes (be careful). Small hike down a paved walk to see the overlook of the materials plant. Then about another 1/4 down the hill to the falls. Falls are beautiful. Tried to complete the trail but was very very muddy from the recent weather.

The Blue Mountain Loop is a newer trail laid out to be a 17.3 mile loop. Info can be found at park office and also in the new trail maps for the park. Great trail, stream side, hard woods, pines, up and downs. Just an over all great mix. You can shorten the loop by taking intersecting trails.

Hiked on 1/14 and the trail was spectacular. The frozen falls were unreal and just stunning. Highly recommend this trail.

Great view at Hemlock Lake. But signs are not clear since then. We followed the false trail when we wanted to leave the lake and came back to the falls.

The lanape yellow trail was just painted but the return white trail was difficult to find. beautiful even in 26° weather!

Gorgeous hike with plenty of Hudson River views and lookouts. Varying terrain from trails to a mile of rock scrambling, and an unexpected waterfall at the northernmost portion of the loop. High chance of wind chill in the winter due to being right on the River for a large portion of the hike, however that is made worth it with some views of the cliffs that would be invisible when the trees are not bare.

Easy walk with some serine lake views. Historical with some old trails to explore.

Trail can get somewhat confusing, but their are a lot of views and landmarks along the way that make it a great hike.

Will be going back, dog had a wonderful time

Great local park. Dog and child friendly. Smooth, well kept trail takes about an hour to walk.. be aware for anyone with hip/knee problem that trail contains stairs. Park has canoe launch, butterfly garden, playground, restrooms, picnic tables, and gazebos.

Got lost as you have to keep stopping to check for blazes. Don't assume if the path is cleared that it's the one you want to be on. Falls were frozen over and much smaller than photos made it seem. Pretty snow and ice on the creek. Ruins were kind of interesting. Bring poles if it's recently snowed or rained.

You can pick up the trail from anywhere but we started along the boardwalk and visited the cows. Also there’s an old cool cemetery hidden along the railroad tracks that’s a little hard to find but so worth it. Once you cross the road and begin
the hike it gets challenging as it is quite steep but the breathtaking views are the payoff!! Don’t miss it!

Short, easy and scenic !

Love this place! Went in the spring and saw the cottage but had to come back in the snow and see it. So Beautiful! One of the best places I have hiked.
