I'm was a good walk and 97% flat. If it rains, there could be a few puddles, yet there are areas where you can walk around.

Walked the blue trail, which is a Great trail for beginners and children. Walked it with an 8 and 5 year old in about an hour.

Started out as a dirt trail and was soft and sandy half way through.

watch the trail markers, going south you need to turn on the fire road to pick up the blue trail when you're going counterclockwise.

Took the blue trail on a balmy January day. It's a 2 mile loop of mostly pine and hardwood trees. Some of the older trees had fallen probably due to Superstorm Sandy a few years back. It's a pleasant walk with little elevation.

These trails are the best in the area, I have being going to Bass River since I was a kid, now my husband and I love hiking with our two dogs, just mins from our house. Highly recommended trails, yellow trail is the best.

Today I hiked the 3.4 mile Yellow trail at Bass River State Forest. The trail is a very nice walk through the pine barrens at its best.
The paths are wide and very well maintained the blazes are on signposts so there is no chance of missing them.It is all flat sand paths. This will be my new go to spot, it is only 4 miles from home.
