Wasn't a great hike. Surrounded by tree coverage, only to end at an anti-climactic vista blocked by trees. Go to the Delaware Water Gap for better views, or just hike directly along the shoreline of the lake close by to this trailhead.

Fun trail, only couple of spots where you have to be careful, do some minor climbing which makes this qualify as hard. Otherwise some rocky terrain where you just have to watch your footing for some parts. Awesome views though make it worth it. Good hike for those who want a bit of a challenge in that aspect. Not challenging in the distance aspect or how long it is.

Unbelievable view from the top. A rocky terrain. The trailhead is behind the Natural swimming pool.

Lightly trafficked easy/moderate trail. Good workout .

Absolutely amazing! Great experience! For my first time hiking, I loved it!

One of the best trails in New Jersey for sure if you follow this route. You certainly get a little bit of everything north jersey has to offer in one hike. The view at the highest point is stunning in the summer. It’s definitely a moderate trail if not a little above that. It’s a 6 mile a** kicker for sure with steep inclines and declines scattered throughout. I went Green to Blue to Yellow/White if you’re following markers. Highly recommend!

Great trail! Lots of rocks to walk up, amazing views. My 7 year old kept up with no problem, but it's not an easy trail. It took us about 3 hours to complete the loop.

Got engaged here. The views were so beautiful and you can see the NYC skyline. It reminded me of a hike in the Adirondack mountains. Perfect place for a proposal :)

This trail is ok, not many views unless you take the short side trail to Wyanokie high point which I did at the end of the hike, lots of nice views up there but unfortunatley there is also a good amount of graffiti. The trail can be hard to follow at times since there are so many side trails so make sure you have the alltrails map downloaded. Parking lot was pretty full on a early saturday but this trail was mostly quiet, only passed a few other hikers.

I have a very special place in my heart for this hike. Some spots are tough.. the views make it worth it. In a few areas you walk through a lot of brush.. check for ticks and mind your footing, all good. Make sure to stop along the way to enjoy the many views you will see.

Challenging rugged terrain with a few nice overlooks on the way to the incredible 360 degree view at Wyanokie High Point. Great for all skill levels.

Was having a great time in this beautiful forest until I came across a black bear right before high point on the white trail with red dot in the middle... Thankfully, it turned once it saw me. Be cautious of your surrounding! Lots of wildlife here, saw deers and a turkey.

Nice hike but if you are looking for a challenging one , this is not it ...It can be categorized as moderate but not hard at all

Good exercise. Good views. Got a little lost at some points. Overall good hike.

Pretty good hike. View up top is pretty awesome. Covered by trees the whole way so the sun isnt beating down on you. Multiple scenic views to look at as you go up to high point which makes for a nice spot to eat some snacks and catch up on hydration.

the views were worth the steep route up, and at the top there is a rock formation of a bench to sit and enjoy the view.

on Shephard's Pond Loop

We stopped here for a picnic and were pleasantly surprised. Really nice picnic area on the pond. The pond had a sand beach. We were there off season but during the summer swimming is allowed. We defiantly are going to check it out in the warmer months.

I went in October and the view was beautiful. The colors of the leaves were just changing and very vibrant. You can see the NYC skyline once you get to high point of the trail. The trail was very moderate and anyone could do this trail!

Be sure you have the correct trail map for this park! It should show a large loop featuring Green—>Blue/Teal—>Blue (a long Yellow and Red/White trail should be on the map, too). There is another map showing as “current” online and it does not have the correct markings.

Anyhoo, I did that Green/Teal/Blue loop mentioned above along with a quick diversion down the White Trail to see the waterfall. Came in a little over 6 miles (I parked at the Weis Center, so some of that was also the walk to the car).

I’d consider this trail fairly untrafficked—I usually only pass one or two people at the most, but I’ve also never gone on weekends.

Doing the loop as I do, starting at the Weis Center and going down the green path first, you come to a steep, pretty killer incline about halfway through. There are also a few spots with some scrambling required over rocks—I even had to lift my dog up one part! Otherwise I’d more list this trail as moderate rather than difficult.

With a good amount of stunning vistas and beautiful forest - and having to work hard for some the views - this hike was great. Granted, this was a 80 degree, clear day in February - the conditions could not have been better. Norvin Green never lets me down.

Very pretty. View of NYC skyline was cool. This hike is as good as any in the lower ADKs and one of my fave Jersey hikes.

The trail markers were a bit confusing, which several other hikers we encountered mentioned as well. Overall though, it was a great hike. A variety of scenery, as well as scrambles, and some more challenging spots. Definitely make your way up to Hi Point. The views were amazing! I would definitely hike here again.

This trail was very beautiful and peaceful. The day we went only met up with an occasional fellow hiker. I agree it was somewhat difficult for us. A lot of steep climbs sometimes over great slabs of granite. I would say hiking shoes rather than sneakers is a must.

Great exercise for an afternoon. Climbs and views. Trekking poles helped my short legs. Nothing too strenuous. Beautiful views and interesting features.

Study the map at the park first and find the map at the kiosk showing the multiple trails and color codes for their blazes. The loop shown here is a small part of what you will see in the total network of trails. Look to match the shape of this loop with the trails on the right side of the map.

I relied on the GPS to stay on the loop shown here, but got off the intended trail and lost the yellow/white blazes near the end. Thought we were on the trail but ended up in someone’s backyard. It was easy to get to the street at that point and you were back at the parking lot. The network of orange, yellow-white, and red-white trails near the end is confusing, many parallel and shared trails, some making small loops. Take a photo at the kiosk or have a map to keep track of your route in this section.

Great hike! Beautiful views!

Good hike. Great views. Many slippery rocks that require caution. Not technically difficult. .

A crowded trail for sure. Came across a pack of about 20 hikers all going up to Mt Defiance. Not one of my favorites but ill return just for the summit.

Great trail with some awesome views. Like other reviewers, It was a bit confusing to get onto the right trail but in the end I followed the green blazes that start near the pool by the parking lot and then the blue blazes up to the Ridgeline. There were some steep sections but I don’t think it’s very strenuous. Great way to spend a few hours when you need a quick nature fix.

Best hike we’ve done in awhile. Don’t just do the map loop above. If you do you’ll miss the views. Make sure to get on the Highpoint Trail so you can see NYC and some other 360 degree amazing views. Didn’t see any other hikers yesterday. Also no one was collecting $10.

Love how you can get amazing views without a super strenuous hike. I did get lost though. There are so many trails at this park and a lot of them run parallel to eachother which doesnt help... luckily i had service and data to look up a map and track my location to get back on the right track. otherwise an awesome loop and good hike with nice views
