Giving this 3 stars only because I ride my bike through here. It is awesome for bike riding. I really wouldn't walk the trail as it can get pretty boring really fast. However, if you are looking to for a nice bike ride, not hard at all, this is a great path for it. The terrain is rather smooth and you can go pretty fast without the fear of any rocks or branches sticking out.

Very well maintained and navigable. Nice for a quick stroll thru some woods and around a lake.

scenic route flat lots of wildlife. places to sit on the trail.

Nicely maintained easy to follow trail using the app

Flat and family friendly. Very safe and lots of stop points. Several roads to cross. A mix of joggers, family outings, bikes, walkers and dogs.

Easy trail. Great for family and dogs.

nice stroll. not difficult at all. brought stroller, was not bad. stick to red/green trail and you should do fine with a stroller. nice views.

This is a great, moderate hike. Be prepared for mud and swamp like conditions on some part of the trail. Also it is overgrown at some parts as well.

The trails are mis-labeled. I think parts of the white trail are labeled as yellow which was confusing but it's a small enough lot that you're never really lost.

I was only able to walk the paved trail today, but enjoyed the fact that it was clean, smooth, and you could see the entrances, some with little colored markers, showing where the other 'woodsy' trails begin. The trail is scenic and has some slight hills, a small waterfall at the end, a lake and a stone bridge over a little stream.

Love it here. Nope, I would not recommend trail running nor heading out for a walk. The best part about it is when you get to the less groomed trails. When I NEED to get out for a mini hike, the last thing I want is people changing nature. Take the mini offshoot trails, some good dense stuff out there. Not particularly challenging but a few tricky spots if you can find them.

Very beautiful. Easy to park and the trails are well marked.

Beautiful fall colors but many downed trees from Hurricane Sandy. Trail needs much maintenance and is not clearly defined in areas.

It's a wonderful walk

we were here for the first day of fall. I was impressed with the amount of park in this park. you could walk here everyday for a month and not take the same route twice. bring bug spray.

Great walk! Beautiful

Beautiful walk in downtown Princeton with Lake views and beautiful scenery. a lot of The trails are in the woods so it's cool and shady in summer which is nice and you can make it as long as you want or short as you want so it's flexible for family with kids or a great work out at a fast pace

ideal for family.

Oh my God! This trail is in major need of restoration and love. I know that it's an unpaved Trail, which is rare to find in central New Jersey, but this trail is completely unsuitable for trail running. It can accommodate one person at a time single file, and sometimes there is not enough room to maneuver. What are the obstructions you may ask? Downed trees, poison ivy, and grasses enough to suggest that I have been the only person to come here this year. Moreover, any labeling as a moderate trail is more likely due to the fact that it is not maintained, not due to any significant changes in incline or intensity. It is is poorly blazed if you are trying to keep tabs pace faster than 4.0 mph.

This trail is close to and has access from New Brunswick / Piscataway and Highland Park. Easy to enter from Johnson Park. Hardly any crowds, no incline and perfect for running and cycling. Also cool as you get to spot turtles, fishes and sometimes snakes in the canal.

Nice easy going trail whether your biking it or hiking it. Last year hiked with our dog and he picked up a LOT of ticks.

For an easy to moderate hike, there was interesting terrain and scenery. Fairly isolated, except some fishermen around the lower lake. Great cicada sounds in the trees. Many trail spurs, but pretty easy to find your way back to the start.
Great with a dog!

The lowest lake loop trail wasn't maintained & I had to turn back.

Where Princeton goes to stretch its legs. You can take the tow path in bite-size bits, from Frenchtown PA to Millstone NJ, or combine a bunch of them. The Princeton to Kingston stretch runs alongside Lake Carnegie. The D&R makes for pleasant, non-strenuous (it's dead level the whole way) walking or biking.
