Perfect 1-2 hour hike, well marked and groomed. Nice view of Manhattan at top of mountain. Nice elevation for good workout , but not overly exerting.

Nice long well marked loop trail in an amazing historical setting. You'll pass creeks, scenic views, historical buildings and will have access to a museum about the revolution.

Nice well marked trail with enough elevation to keep it challenging. Parts can be muddy but it was cool enough that the ground stayed frozen in those sections. Good Sunday morning hike.

1.4.19. Really splendid hike for a winter’s day as the lack of foliage opens up the views and one does generally feel away from it all in the Morristown National Historical Park. I went counter-clockwise, starting where Grand Loop trail (white blazes) crosses Jockey Hollow Road and did a variant on this hike by adding in the Mt Kemble trail (blue blazes) towards the end. Grand Loop is appropriately designated as moderate as the climbs are spread out over a decent distance. I gained 922 ft over 6.7 miles so it felt distinctly comfortable. The section of Grand Loop between the two crossings of Tempe Wick Road was quite muddy. Take care crossing that road as cars barrel along at quite a speed. Great views from the top of Mount Kemble looking east. Took about two and a quarter hours in total.

Good trail. Came after some rain from the day before, so it can get pretty muddy at parts. Trails were marked properly and only had to check maps during forks. Some good scenery all around and nice increase in elevation depending on which route around you took.

Good views on a clear sunny winter day. Trail is well marked. Can be v muddy after a rain

12.12.18. Easy, straight forward and well-marked loop. Our leisurely one hour tour started at the parking lot by the restrooms and headed south west on a blue marked path parallel to Jockey Hollow road. After a third of a mile, we crossed the road and joined the blue blazed Patriots Path and continued on for another third of a mile. We then turned sharp left onto the white blazed Grand Loop trail. There is a smallish pond to the right just after this turn. We stayed on this trail (the most scenic of this loop) for about 1.3 miles and then made a sharp left turn onto an unmarked trail for another third mile before joining the Yellow trail. We followed this for a short while before joining the paved Grand Parade Road. After that, it's a short walk back to the parking lot to complete the loop.

I've been hiking here for several decades. If you start at the Huts parking, go through the woods, hike the Blue Loop and finish up back to the Huts, you get a nice 1 hour / 4 mile hike.
A very nice workout to start the day.

Well marked and trail was in decent condition considering how much rain we’ve been having.

Park in small lot for Jockey Hollow This is an easy hike which you can make as difficult as you want by going uphill from Farm. not sure what is up there. There was no wind so it was going to get hot there in afternoon. This is a great hike to start out your day to see some forest. The more history you know the more fun this hike is.
Virtual Treadmill video of this hike can be seen on my YouTube Channel, copy and paste link below to watch it. Thanks.

Crowded on a school holiday. All alone on a workday.
Northern end:
Feels like a park in an urban setting.
Southern end:
Beautiful paved bike trail through forest.
One note: the not paved trail is in dire need of maintenance. Lots of briars and muddy spots.
Biking, what more could you ask for?

Started from the Visitor Center, where we bought a map of the park's trails ($1), got some vague directions to the trail from the Ranger and set out. There are some decent inclines and declines -- none steep but most are lengthy.

Due to the recent rain, the trail gets very muddy in some areas, particularly near a small pond. and some sections are almost overgrown. It is very well marked and the map is useful. Crossing Tempe Wick Road (twice) is not fun but not all that hard.

Overall, a pretty, pleasant walk through old growth woods, dotted by occasional historic markers. The Wick Farm, near the trail, is worth visiting.

Mostly level, but there is a little bit of up and down on the northern part of the trail. The trail signs in the parking lots are not very helpful, but the signs on the Grand Loop trail itself are nice with little maps and "You are here" arrows.

Trail is wide and maintained for the most part. There are a few narrower spots where you will brush up against vegetation, so you need to check yourself for ticks.

Nice little hike along the creek. A bit buggy on the day I went. Probably nice in fall.

Jockey Hollow, New Jersey
Fun adventure. Started at the parking lot across from the soldier huts.
***The trail leads behind the soldier huts and does fork. Make sure you take a right to stay on track.
If you go after a rainy day there are parts that can be muddy in spots so hiking boots would be ideal.
The trail does loop close to the Wick House so stop by to take a look and visit the garden.
Good fun for me and my 6 and 10 year olds who wore sneakers.

Leisurely trail perfect for an afternoon walk. Good for any level.

We just spotted two baby bears!! And mommy bear may be around!! Carry Bear Spray!!

Excellent hike. Trails were very well maintained and marked. Nice view. Clean indoor bathrooms with full plumbing.

Our dog also had a lot of fun.

Brought the dog and we had a wonderful time! Groomed but not to the point where it isn’t fun.

Great trail for a beginner mountain biker. Some parts are tricky but short

My favorite in the area

Good trail for exercise, not much to see here. Yellow Trail follows Patriots path for a short distance.
