great trail for walking or biking.

Great mixture of twists turns uphill downhill and tricky rock and root sections.

I've done this a couple of times. It is really more of a walk than a hike in my opinion. Also, it is not as secluded as I would prefer.

Great in the fall.

Hiking can feel a bit tedious since these trails were made for mountain biking but I do love trail running here!

Great bike or hike with a rail trail grade for beginners or those who want to do the complete 30 mile round trip. If you want to take a break take the road and stop at Melick’s Orchard for Peaches, Apples, or farm stand cider.

These trails have great flow with switchbacks to manage the uphill climbs and there are plenty of challenges mixed in to keep you entertained throughout the entire ride. Kudos to the trail crew.

Don't be fooled by the description up top. We did 8.4 miles and 533 feet of elevation gained.

Rivals Nockamixon n PA and Six Mile Run in NJ. Although 6MR doesn't get the TLC the other two do.

Nice walk on an old railroad bed. Flat and pretty level. Little gnome structures along the trail to check out , keep your eyes open some are hidden.

Solid place to go mtb especially if you have kids just learning. Nothing too technical just nice riding and mild grades. Pretty pedal through the gorge, great for hiking and fly fishing too. Gives you the feeling you are more secluded than you really are.

George P. Beautiful trail. Beautiful day. I've mountain biked this trail end to end several times. Today, February 22, 2017 was a magnificent day with 70 degree temps. I love this trail because it is relatively flat with some bumps. Today I only was able to ride from Kenlockood Gorge to Califon and back because I'm recovering from injuries but the gorge is as close to Montana as we get here in NJ. Watched a fly fisherman bring in a trout on a nymph. Life doesn't get any better than this unless I was reeling that fish in myself.

From High Bridge you can take the high road, the rail trail, go towards Califon and return through Lockwood Gorge along the town and the river. Two different experiences on the same ride.

Walked a couple miles out and back from High Bridge. Looks like a great, flat trail for mountain biking and it was a nice stroll for us. There were plenty of hikers and bikers even though it was pretty hot. As such, if you're looking for quiet and solitude, this might not be the ideal venue. But if you want an easy flat trail with a decent amount of shade, it works.

Just did my first MTB ride through the Gorge and into Flanders. This is a beautiful trail, especially the section through the gorge. Its like Montana in NJ. Nice moderate trail. Not too steep and not too rough. It was a beautiful day today and I thoroughly enjoyed this trail.

Very good easy ride for the families..lots of runners too. The view of the gorge is fantastic. Stop for Mexican at high bridge... Nice morning...

Peaceful walk by the creek. The sound of the water alone is soothing. Will comeback for picnic on the rocks...

Relaxing with nice scenery and convenient stopping palaces. Cycled this trail dozens of times and I travel from Westfield to do so. It's THAT food.

Beautiful scenery for a short easy walk next to the water. So beautiful!!

This is definitely a walk, not a hike. I went toward Schooley's and did a makeshift hike just to get a little dirty, but this is more for someone wanting to ride their bike or go for a run. If you are looking to hike on a mountain this is not where you want to go.

This trail gives you a little piece of everything you want in mountain biking. I usually start from the upper lot located on Nassau Road. I always go to the left and follow that trail down to the bottom lot then across Nassau Road and continue around the other the other side. Trails consist of loose dirt, rock, log rollovers, awesome singletracks, logs to ride along and balance on and most of all great scenery. I would consider this trail for intermediate to advanced riders only, because of the long gradual climbs along the way. Trails are very well maintained by local riders and nice people like myself who help to maintain our beautiful trails. I usually ride this trail once a week.

A very simple hike—more of a really long walk, really—but very pretty. I took the Columbia Trail to River Road and walked the Ken Lockwood Gorge at gorge-level. It was a hot day, but the shade and the spray from the creak kept things enjoyable.

This is a very popular trail, so if you're looking for a hike to "lose yourself in your thoughts," this isn't in that genre. Even so, it was a pretty and refreshing long walk.

Nice easy trail, gravel path with no elevation changes. Not much in the way of views but good autumn color. The distance is misleading, this trail is labeled High Bridge to Ken Lockwood Gorge which according to the distance markers is about 2.75 miles each way (5.5 mile round trip) but the distance was listed as 7 miles which is the entire length of the trail which would be a 14 mile roundtrip.

Love this trail so much! Mostly flat because it's a rail trail. Gravel on top of a paved path. Municipal parking is across the path on main street in high bridge. Lots of bikers and running. A nice family setting. Really cool because you're high up above the gorge and can look down.
