Great trail, good variety of terrain, wide flat trails, some slight hills, fields, woods, gorgeous serene pine forest, wetlands, a river ...

Took the blue to red to blue loop. While not a lot of picturesque views along the way, the trail was well maintained and offered some nice foliage. The first couple of miles parallels the river, which is fast moving with some waterfalls and rapids. Great hike overall!

The Mill is an interesting thing to see, and tours are available. Behind that you can locate the trail along the river. Couldn’t make it to the falls this go-round as due to the recent rains much of the trail was muddy and very hard to cross. There’s boards and planks along the way that are probably pretty useful, but were just buried in the mud this time. Will visit again in dryer conditions.

not actually a loop. not well maintained

Did it in the rain so me and a friend had the whole trail to ourselves. Easy trail to navigate and not too challenging, other than the river and a small waterfall there isnt much to see, still a nice quick weekend hike.

One of my new favorite hiking places! We hiked on the red trail which was the river trail, led us right to a stream and then the gorgeous River, lots of falls and streams, and I love how the picnic tables are placed all over the trail on the river, we packed a lunch and literally ate on an island on the stream near a waterfall.. We will ref be coming back!

Lovely trail and a good walk. Great for experiencing the seasons! If you're into hiking year round- this trail is great. Awesome views in summer and spring, beautiful in the fall, and great to experience winter. Common place to see dog walkers and joggers as well as waterfowl!

Lovely trail along the Lamington (?) River. Good vertical makes this a moderate trail.

nice hiking trail can be a bit of a challenge finding trail signs

The trail was a little hard to find at first..but another kind hiker told me to stick by the river and I would find the waterfalls..awesome views. Can't wait to return.

Love this place! Went in the spring and saw the cottage but had to come back in the snow and see it. So Beautiful! One of the best places I have hiked.

This is a great moderate hike that takes you down by the Black River. Highly recommend this hike in the peak of fall as the colors are amazing.

I didn't take the black river trail loop. Took the patriot trail to the green trail to the cottage and back. This game lace is Gorgeous! The cottage looks like a painting, it's amazing. Lots of trails and add ons in this park. They don't have maps at the trail heads so make sure you have found a map (which by the way are hard to find on line). This link below may help.

Better for hiking than trail running, but a very good trail system to de-stress oneself and commune with nature. Leave earbuds in the car and enjoy the sounds of nature.

This was a great hike! loved the scenic views of the river and waterfalls. We took the blue trail to the orange trail to the red trail then finished with the green trail before going back to blue. The blue trail was an easy trec along the river. The orange trail was absolutely beautiful. Butterflies and bees buzzed around the wild flowers. the red trail was a bit more difficult through the woods, up and down rocky terrine. The green trail led us to some historic rock ruins and down to a beautiful waterfall.

Solid trail with a nice pace and mix of terrain. Great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Favorite part was discovering an abandoned stone house by a small waterfall. Caught a couple fish out there too. Great trail for beginners

Wear pants (not shorts); lot of fun, especially the loop; we took the red trail with 6.3 miles. Finished in about 3.5 hours while stopping at the river streams.

Tracking the map with this app (pro user) was very helpful.

Trail waa Beautiful and never boring

Lovely walk today! Leaves were covering trails so it was quite slippery going downhill, watch your footing. Trails could definitely be marked better but this app truly helped when we missed our markers!

Hiked out Blue from Cooper Gristmill to Conifer Trail (Red) to Green back to Blue today with my wife, daughter and lab buster brown. Good workout trail is not marked real well so pay attention. Trail leaf cover at this point so a little slippery on the downside.

We did this trail on Oct 15 with a combination of blue, red and a little green trails. We did over 6 miles within 3 hours with several brief stops for taking photos. The views are good at this time of the year because of leave color changing.

Slightly more challenging than Hacklebarney, and an absolutely beautiful trail. You can spend the entire day exploring the different trails along the main route.

Fishing was great along the trail.

The river was very low, which made the waterfall pretty weak, but it was one of the better trails I've ever been on. I will definitely go back, maybe after some good rainfall to see the streams and waterfall more active. Overall a great experience with very nice views.

It was great! Lots of beautiful scenery & rivers/streams. Many trails to take! Also a Millhouse from the 1730's that has free tours! Lovely people that work there! This app also helped our hike tremendously.
