Beautiful pond and beaver area but poor signage.

Went in mid January with snowshoes but did not need them. Took the yellow trail around pond, but it was not a loop so backtracked. Lovely setting, quiet walk in the woods. Recommend for an easy afternoon in the fresh air.

Not the Heald Pond Trail, probably part of Heald Tract, does not go to the pond. It is a nice loop trail but it's poorly marked, difficult to navigate the loop due to multiple intersections. However it was very easy to follow using gps. Some sections are maintained very nicely but others are not maintained at all and are heavily overgrown.

Beware!!! It is not really a loop! If you turn left instead of turning right at the Fisk Trail junction, you will be climbing quite a challenging steep hill and then would need to go all the way down to find your car, if you get lucky. You should follow the yellow trail if you want to get back to the Heald Road where you parked. If you take orange or blue trail, you will end up at Fisk hill. We got completely lost and Wilton police guys saved us. Without them, we would have been sleeping in the woods.
