Great place for a short trail run in the summer and fall

Parked in the lot for the whiteface trails since the church was socked in with snow, then walked back. Trailhead was a little tricky to find since you have to walk a ways down the side road (unnamed? Off ferncroft) and basically straight through someone’s yard, but it is back there. After that it is well marked up to a ledge with partial views. An easy jaunt, nothing super special.

perfect place to run

easy loop with some wildlife (fish, snakes, loons)

Nice short local trail for kids with a super view from the tower. Not well marked but that makes it more exciting for the kids. We did a loop of sorts by heading up road taking Betty’s path up and coming down fire road. Never even knew it existed!

we hiked this trail and it's not well marked

Rained earlier so a few flooded areas but trail was well maintained. Hiked it with the wife and our 5 and 3 year old. Great views from the fire tower. Gets steep near the top

Nice easy trail, good for kids, good views also.

Pretty views, virtually no incline. Narrow areas between bushes in some spots. Saw a few water snakes. Nice easy hike.

Took a large group of ~13 year olds and the trek for that big of a group I wouldn't say is worth it. It is better for personal hikes.

Great easy hike around White Lake. We saw a pair of beautiful Loons on our hike this morning.

on Mount Katherine Trail

Very nice trail. Markers near the beginning of trail are faint and sparse, but once you get going there are more and are more visible. All in woods, so shaded which was nice on this sunny day. Once you get a little ways up there are breezes through the trees, even though it wasn't a breezy day. Some pretty tough spots along the trail so make sure you have a walking stick or two and good hiking shoes. The view from the fire tower at top is very nice and we were able to catch a nice constant cool breeze even on an 88 degree day

Couldn’t find trailhead- ended up on blueberry ledge trail to Mount Whiteface.

Nice trail if you enjoy big trees. Some of the largest White Pine & Hemlocks in the area. Great views through the forest. Last 1/2 mi. is where you gain most of your elev. At the top is Great Hill fire tower with a super 360*.

Dog leashes might be a misnomer in the National Forest.. I think the requirement might be "under control".

Parked at Church on 113, walked to side road then took left at mailboxes on to Ferncourt. Keeping heading straight down Red Trail (do not take right on Red Path), follow blue blazes. Trail begins on left before last house on the lane. Blue blaze is on telephone pole, across from pole is a blank sign (aged and faded). From there trail is well marked. Easy as described, several options or add-ones about halfway up. (Blueberry trail & Tilson trail on separate trails). We headed to Mount Katherine, 3 miles total trip. View is great. Quiet area. Vegetation interesting, deadfall but not at the summit.

The trail was quite narrow in some spots and I'm not a fan of having to pay to get to the trail head

A nice walk around the lake. It's a great place to camp also.

Very nice walk around the lake.

We did the Mt Mexico Loop on a warm spring day. Big rock cave was cool. Whiting Brook was very high due to all the snow melt so the trail required 4 crossings. Made it pretty fun but you had to get wet. Would not have been so fun if the weather wasn't so nice.

We tried to use this trail in February, but there was nowhere to park. Anyone have luck locating parking?

Pleasant easy trail with nice ledge summit and view toward Chocorua. The trail that appears as coming out on the road appears to be private property though a wider logging road that goes down from the summit appears to be ok and unposted. The walk from the road back to the red trail start is about .8
