Great views at the top - a bit tricky to find the trailhead. You’ll see pudding pond trailhead- a short walk in, there is more detail on trail options. Some good opportunities to hike multiple trails from this trailhead & it was easy for our dog!

Very easy, considering we’re in the heart of the mountains.

HikingGreat!

What a great trail ! There were so many different aspects about it. In the beginning the path was wide, then later on it became narrower. One long section was like a roller coaster path. It was so much fun ! Soon enough it became like a footpath. And then also there were sections close to the top that were all slabs. They were still slippery from the rain from the day before. At the top I watched 2 hawks enjoying the weather by flying in large arcs, higher and higher. It was awesome ! The descent was very enjoyable.

Very good hike. I imagine it gets very muddy up there. I took the northern way up, wanted to take the loop back but the signage was a lil confusing! that's why I gave it 4 stars. Nice challenging hike

Beautiful view! We added on cathedral ledge on our way down from whitehorse. Rocky climp up and technical on the way down. Worth the views! Took my family of first time hikers with me and they did just fine!

HikingGreat!RockyScramble

Started at echo lake the view of the mountain on the water I thought was breath taking, took Bryce up pretty much steep rock climbing but super fun. Views at the top and the ledge are definitely worth it. Walked auto road down which I probably won’t do again in my hiking shoes. Some reason was rough on the hips plus I had to walk on road back to echo lake. Go back the way you came!

Two very steep parts that took about ten minutes each. Otherwise really easy. Nice views at the top. Lake trail not that impressive. Beautiful views from the beach.

Hiking

The trail was in good condition, and was very well marked with yellow blazes. We went counterclockwise around the lake, up the Bryce Trail, to the White Horse Trail and then back to the Bryce Trail around the lake and out. It’s a very steep ascent/scramble in parts but the view is beautiful and well worth it. The descent is longer and winding and fully tree covered. We completed it in 2:45 with no stop at the top (it was pouring rain!).

Pretty walk around a pretty lake. Very easy and kid- friendly but not great for strollers due to roots.

HikingGreat!

Limited parking - thankfully someone was getting ready to leave when we arrived. There are signs but we still had a hard time finding the trail head. Did 2.5 miles on the bike trails before getting on the correct trail. The trails are nice and wide, I would definitely say its moderate - pretty steep incline most of the way up. We had the summit to ourselves when we first arrived - beautiful views.

Excellent climb and the epitome of a hike. It was well worth it but don't bring your flip flops. Curtain parts were steep but doable

HikingBugs

Reviewers were 100% correct in that this place is super buggy but with bug spray it’s okay. You just hear a lot going past your ears. This was a great mini mountain hike for kids. We carried our toddler in a backpack and he walked a little. Steep but not too rocky. If you want a more challenging hike with better 360 views of mountains in the same area hike mount kearsarge.
