Easy hike, but you still climb enough for beginners to feel like they accomplished something. Even a Little Rock scramble and the end. Those rocks/Ledge allow for great views.

Even though we hike a lot of hard stuff here in the White’s we like to take this hike when we have a short window of time, but want to get some time in nature. It’s always a good few hours in the woods.

It’s great winter and fall too!

Today we added 3 or 4 miles by taking cutoff and looping over (1.8 each way) to the top of Cranmore Mt.

Another easy stroll through the woods with nice views from the ski lodge at the top of Mt. Cranmore. You share the space with folks that took the chairlift up but there are bathrooms, food and Tuckerman’s beer. Ha. That was a nice addition to our casual hike today.

Awesome trail for beginners with fantastic views for you reward! Loved it and will be doing it more than once.

View from the top is underwhelming. A lot of greenery. There are a few good clearings with great views though. Not too difficult and it’s a pretty brief hike.

on Peaked Mountain Trail

nice view to northeast. a little confusing as signs pointing to Thompson road parking pointed I 2 different directions an we took the wrong one. take the longer route

Nice trail, very clear markings, and views from summit.

Rode probably half the trails from the suggested start and had a blast on the two easier loops. Then went up EKG and followed Side Hill to Rattlesnake and back on Swenson. Had quite the encounter with 2 different bears near the old mine site. Got really close to a big one and then a Juvenile a few mins latter.

My wife and I (both 68 y/o) hiked Middle trail first and then over to Peaked Mountain. Beautiful views at the top of both peaks. At the beginning you think it's an easy trail, but pretty soon the incline increases and it becomes more challenging. My AllTrails app says 3:16 hrs moving and 4:22 hrs total; 5.4 miles. Enjoyable hike.

Great trip for our family, but would say it's somewhere between easy and moderate. I'd still recommend it, but be prepared for more than just a stroll.

This trail was poorly mapped out, we went off trail several times, and could not find the connecting trail out to Rattle Snake Mountain trail. We still got in some good mileage doing Pudding Pond Trail to Pillar to Pond Trail, but we kept hitting dead ends after that. Next time, I will stick to the park map. Beautiful preserve area though! You can get in a lot of distance with in the park if you follow the map and markers precisely.

Beautiful view on this mountain! I will say, though, that I am glad my husband accompanied me, as we switched back and forth on carrying our 2.5 year old in the hiking carrier. It was tough, but what a sweet reward at the top!

good parking, nicely marked trails that you will share with mountian bikers. Steep, straight, and short. Trails are smooth somewhat free of large rocks and roots. good view.

10 cars in parking lot. Gorgeous, private, easy hike. Green water (yellow sand, blue sky) makes it beautiful. Refreshing!

Great hike. Well marked. Hiked middle mtn first then went up peaked mtn right after. Definitely a good call to go up the middle mtn side first and descend down the peaked mtn side.

easy, wide open, well marked and nice view from top. we took a side trail after the summit to add more miles.

great easy trail for young kids and out of shape folks like me; great views of Maine and Mount Washington. blueberry bushes galore once you clear the tree line if you go up at the right time of year.

There are 4 trails which are all in the same entrance then you can choose how long of your hike on the way. I and my dog did the shortest one 1.1 mile, Black Cap Mt. It was very good. The view from the top is gorgeous.

Your car need to good on breake and can go to steep road.

It says 2.5 Miles.....but according to the sign at the bottom from Thompson Road it was written 4.4 Miles one way....explain please??

Trail was marked perfectly. FYI mountain road is exactly that, prepare to drive straight up and heavily on the brakes down. The trail was demanding for us beginners but the view from the top was absolutely stunning and worth the climb with a 2, 4, & 7 year old!

Went on this last week. My first time up. I enjoyed the hike. I was surprised to meet two cyclists at the top. The last stretch was steep and rocky and I didn’t realize the flexibility of the current equipment.

I’d recommend this trail for all reasonably healthy trekkers.

Easy for small children. A little tough at times with the markers when branching off of the standard loop, but fun and easy!

Its a really tough (cardio wise) climb uphill when you use Middle Trail to the top. I think it would be a bit easier if you use the Peak Trail which is the north side of the circle to reach the top. We aren’t 25 yrs old and it was an uphill climb, but easy on the footing at least. The Peak is beautiful and well worth it. It did take us a little over 3 hours since we sat at the top for a long while.

Steep hike, did it in late march with a lot of ice and snow on the mountain still. Went without boot spikes and suffered the consequences. Would recommend not doing in the winter unless properly equipped. Great views at the top though, worth the work.

FYI--Hurricane Mountain Road is closed about 1.5 before you reach the trail.

gets the heart pumping! the snow was nice and packed down for most of the way until you near the top - definitely recommend crampons! it was steeper in the beginning and throughout the middle but levels off towards the top. doable for any level hiker if you take your time! our puppy did great! well marked! beautiful view - would love to hike again in the warmer weather.

Super rando! De belles vues et un sommet ou l’on peut prendre du temps pour relaxer. C’est beau! Quand même facile comme montée . Je ferai la boucle dans le sens anti-horaire la prochaine fois .

You really want to wear crampons at the very least, but I actually would have done this in snowshoes. Loved it

the perfect trail with my pup! we absolutely loved it! perfect for any skill level. we took the black diamond trail. A+

gets the heart pumping! middle mountain trail to the peaked connector is steeper, but a little more direct. doable for any level hiker if you take your time. peaked trail is windier and takes a bit longer - not as steep as middle. the views along peaked trail before you even get to the summit are breathtaking. our puppy did great! well marked! beautiful view - would love to hike again in the warmer weather!

Great winter hike for Christmas Eve day. Fairly well traveled. We started at 10:30 and the trail had already been broken from the storm the day before. Micro spikes were fine and packed snow made it easy for our standard poodle. He's not much of a hiker on the steeps - this was easy for him. Nice view at the summit. Took the advice here and went up Middle and down Peaked....made for great views on the way down.
