Parked in the larger west lot, which was pretty full, but people were dispersed throughout the trails, so it wasn't too bad. We did the full 3.4-ish mile walk around the perimeter and it was actually a wonderful walk with great footing and lots of water views. Also lots of opportunities for our dog to take a dip, but did have to rescue her once because she couldn't climb out along a rocky section of the shore. We had just had about 4 days of continuous rain, so there were some damp and muddy spots, but lots of rocks, roots and appropriately placed boards helped us navigate the wetness. The boardwalk through the wetlands, was awesome! Someone obviously put in a lot of time, thought and effort into building that! Turns out this walk is now one of our new faves... We'll be back!

Really buggy. BRING SPRAY. But the views from Bald Knob and of the waterfall were well worth it. Highly recommend this hike as a 7 mile loop.

I would def recommend going counterclockwise up to bald knob and down turtleback. Pretty boring going down turtleback but restful. I'd say the whole hike was easy instead of moderate. We saved time going over to turtleback taking a cutoff at the top of Bald knob...see recording. Turtleback was very buggy all the way down.

Great trail! Easy to find parking near Shannon pond. Highly recommend taking turtle back ( counterclockwise) to shannon cutoff to bald knob cut off towards bald knob summit! Two great views within a mile. Descend on turtleback and on the way check out turtleback summit! Turtleback is very wide and pretty flat! Beautiful views and ice cream at the end!

Shannon brook trail is washed out at the beginning but still accessible from the cutoff a little way up

It was a super hot day. But we got to fish in a couple spots, got 2 pretty niced sized bass. Went off the trail a bit to get back to the car a bit quicker. Overall a really nice hike. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a shaded walk in the woods with some nice lake side fishing.

This trail can be challenging for those who don’t hike often but it is a great hike. I’ve done it twice. Beautiful views, low traffic and very easy to follow markers. I always recommend this trail to people!

We really enjoyed this hike. Great trails with a lot of variety. Loved walking along the lake and enjoying the areas to sit on a rock and enjoy the water views.

Great trail for running. Lots of varying terrain and a cool bridge trail. There where a couple muddy sections but there where plenty of logs and rocks to make it so you didn’t get too dirty. The part along the water was my favorite.

Awesome! Wide, well groomed trail. My eleven year old and puppy were able to manage it well. Gradual ascent. Fabulous view from the scenic overlook, we did not summit Bald Nob. We took Bald Nob down, which was steeper for the first half. If we do it again we will ascend and descend on Turtleback- it was nicer on the knees :)

very nice hike! not too steep but still got 2 nice views from Bald Knob and Turtleback summit. a little muddy because of downpour last night. some a nice day it wbig mosquitoes flying around but if you keep moving at good pace and/or use a little bug spray you should be fine. trail crosses a nice little mountain stream/waterfall that my dog enjoyed splashing in. parking was pretty ample and trail signage was very clear. didn't actually see that many people considering what as. started getting more crowded on my way out later in the afternoon, but seems like there is enough space for people to spread out. I plan to go back and explore the other trails the conservation land has to offer!

Decent hike! Super buggy for the first half of it. We made the mistake of not bringing spray - don’t be us! Very well marked, but found the hike to be a little one-note. That said, the views from the top of bald knob (which - lol) are fantastic. Not crowded, completed just short of 3 hours.

Started with the shannon brook trail for the waterfalls and ended at the outlook for the sunset. Buggy but manageable

Really nice hike, cloudy today, I’d recommend the brook walk as a way back instead of Shannon Brook trail

Nice and quiet today - generally dry and limited bugs. What else can you ask for? Always a nice little stroll through the woods - good for the whole family!

Loved Bald Knob, highly recommend. I don’t think Turtleback was worth the views- you just see some some hills. A little buggy, but not terrible. I am a little confused with the length of this trail because we hiked just under 9 miles. We didn’t follow this trail exactly, but just getting to Turtleback was 4 miles. I would definitely prepare for a longer hike and just go to the Bald Knob views.

Great trail for the family. I agree with the poster who said do the loop counter-clockwise; that way you have the fun of the beaches toward the end.

A little buggy until we got up to the turtleback mountain. Falls were nice, but we didn’t get to them until the end because we did it backwards

The way down was significantly easier on the knees than the way up! Beautiful hike with even better views. GPS went awry when started, so recording is not accurate. Bugs just started to come out. Easy enough for kids and not too crowded for a 930am start
