Take this wonderful loop hike over two beautiful bald peaks with fantastic views towards the taller White Mountains. This is a loop hike with several fun stream crossings and a lot of views at the top of both peaks and along the ridge. As their name implies, both peaks have bald summits and in some steep places you may find yourself on fun scrambles. There will be fantastic views on clear days towards the taller White Mountains including Mt. Washington which dominates the horizon.Show more

Easy trail along river with good swimming The trail is an old railroad bed. It is generally wide and easy to follow with few obstacles. You are frequently next to the river which has many good swimming holes. The trail is ONLY marked near the outhouse (see picture). It swings around next to the brook (behind the campground) before joining the old railbed. Shortly you will come to the junction of the Moriah brook trail / imp shelter. Continue straight with the Wild Brook on your right for 2.7 miles to Spider Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on past the Spruce Brook Shelter (lean to (sleeps 8) with 2 tent platforms). Within a mile you will reach the Red Brook. Both the Spruce Brook and Red Brook can be difficult to cross in high water.Show more
