Surprisingly nice hike considering the minimal and not too enthusiastic reviews. Pleasant steep climb up Cotton, nice mini view on top. Easy-ish and pretty hike over to Livermore with an even better view and lunch spot there. Lots of pretty little brooks but it was easy to stay dry in spite of colossal rain. Old highway is pretty washed out. Nice hike overall with some good views and just enough of a push without being hard.

Would plan to come on a sunny clear day next time but the hike was still nice! Cotton is steeper and with the wet fall leaves a bit slippery but all the other trails were easy waking. Especially the Prescott section - it’s just like a walk in the woods! No challenges.

HIked up via Cotton Mtn. to Mount Livermore. Only took about an hour even though the hike up Cotton was slippery and wet. After Cotton the hiking was super easy up to Livermore. Instead of back tracking, I made a loop out of this by heading down the Prescott trial to Rte. 113. That trail head is just a short bit down the road from the Cotton trail head - an easy walk up the road to the car. The hike down Prescott was hardly a "hike"...more like a walk downhill in the woods. Nothing steep or challenging. Nice views on Cotton and Livermore albeit the day was cloudy.

Nice short hike, yes, steep like they all say. Hiked on a cloudy day after all the rains and with the fallen leaves it was interesting at times due to the incline. Instead of coming back down it, I went on over to Livermore and took the Prescott trail down to the old road. Nice way to make this into a loop hike.

good quick hike. view point is small but beautiful. less crowded than West Rattlesnake

Great bang for the buck!

It's the shortest trail to the summit of West Rattlesnake but it is really steep with some scrambles. I didn't had much time so I took this route to catch the sunset over the squam lakes.

I underestimated the trail and brought barely a quarter of a 16.9 ounce water and ran out when I got about 80% to the summit. The hike down was much easier so I didn't needed any water.

The views from the summit of West Rattlensnake was absolutely memorable so it was totally worth the quick hike. This was my second hike to the summit of this mountain this year.

Great little hike, steep! It does connect to other trails, recommend taking ridge trail on your way back over to west rattlesnake summit, the view is even more incredible there!!

Very well marked. Took us about 3 hrs. Some scrambling on the way up. Recommend going clockwise.

Incredible view!

Short hike with a big reward of a view.

easy and beautiful views

This was an ok hike. It seemed more moderate than easy... yes its kind of a short trail but the majority of the trail is steep! Still doable with a baby on your back but slow and steady for sure. View was nice at top but only a small clearing to see it.

Steep with some minor scrambles. Totally worth the effort short term for an amazing vista.

great views

Every place marked No Parking. We had to turn around and leave. :-(

I've combined the Old Bridle Path with the Ridge Trail to East Rattlesnake to make a nice half day hike. The panoramic view from West Rattlesnake mtn in particular was absolutely breathtaking. I had a nice pair of binoculars with me so I was able to really see all over the Squam Lake. The water was so clear, blue and pristine it was out of this world.

The surrounding mountain range of Mount Webster, Mount Morgan, Mount Percival was spectacular as well. The view from East Rattlesnake is not as good as from the west side but still worth the trip especially when the trail is just moderately difficult. The first leg of the trail Old Bridle path is easy but the Ridge trail between West and East Rattlesnake is moderate difficulty.

My son really like it that there is a couple of trees along the way that was covered with mushroom. He calls them the mushroom tree. We didn't see much wildlife along the way however other than the usual squirrels and chipmunks and native birds. I was hoping to see an osprey or hawk or owl but didn't see any that day.

The east rattle snake trail is a little more wooded and thus more buggy than the west rattle snake mountain side. The view is good but definitely can not compare to the west rattle snake side. But it's a short hike for a relatively good reward.

My kids do not like hiking as much as I do. My kids love this hike for the rock jump and swim!

Very easy trail. The leaves are slippery, but we were able to do the entire trail in an hour and 45 minutes with a couple of 15 minute stops at the tiny beaches! We even saw a massive snapping turtle in the water, which was cool, but I definitely didn't wanna go for a swim after seeing him haha. Bug spray is a must!

Fantastic view for such a quick hike! Some parts are quite steep, but the view is worth it. If you're parking at the trailhead, make sure you get there early. There's only room for 4 or 5 cars

Beautiful hike with some sandy beaches if you need to cool off!

There was no trail marker off Old Mill Rd. parking area, but we figured it out. Wasn't much of a peak either, and we actually missed it and wound going to Mt. Morgan. Deffinetly the path less traveled. Was an easy trail though and great for my 4 month old pup. I'd love to do it in the winter.

Same view as the West Rattlesnake Mountain hike, with less people. The trail is well cut with some parts of steep climbing, and the view is incredible. At only a little longer than a mile, it’s pretty much the ideal quick hike.

Beautiful views for little effort.

I was up there yesterday and all trails are closed for mud season. Rattlesnake, Morgan, Percival.

Just to clarify, this is a Nature Center with outdoor animal exhibits, it requires a fee. A pretty easy walk with lots of interesting animals.
