Great, well marked trail but don’t let the rating fool you! Almost immediately, we went straight up and it did not relent until we reached the top! We followed red to the top. Coming down was also well marked and groomed. We followed orange down to the 2nd white junction and hung a left to head down white. White took us to a dirt road we took a left on that and we walked the road the rest of the way to our car! (The road was easy) I would say this aired on the side of moderate!

A lovely, peaceful, and overall easy hike. There are a few good views along the way to the summits, especially the view of Winnipesaukee, which is very comparable to that of Major minus the huge crowds

well marked and varied terrain. beaver pond in the middle is a treat. it has very few views, but it does have one great view of the lake right before the first peak. went in late July and there were fields and fields of wild blueberries at and near the peaks! never very steep, but not a stroll in the park either. highly rec’d.

typical Bellknap range hike, easy to moderate effort for great views.

I love to do hikes alone but sometimes get a little nervous when it is not marked well. No problems with that on this trail, very well marked! Bring some empty containers in case you time it right with the wild blueberries. Still some small ones at the top but definitely at the end of their season.

Very well marked trail, quick and easy hike. I hiked it with a pulled Achilles and it didn’t irritate my calf any further. We started b 8am with 70+ degree weather which was nice. LOTS of blueberries at the top!

Super easy trail and very well marked for the green trail, Great views from the top, you can see the chairlift at the top of Gunstock from the firetower. Very good trail for dogs!

What a great trail! It's very well marked (and the maps at the trailhead are accurate & detailed) - and the trail is well maintained.

Find little hike with the family and pet friendly

Great trail! Lovely creek, pretty vistas, well marked! But I would argue with the easy rating! Steep climbs both up and down.

Great hike. Challenging a bit for us 'old folks' but it's about the journey! Not a fan of the last part being a paved road (that hurt the most). Black flies were relentless but to be expected. A great day overall!

Great. I'd definitely do it again. nice hike.

Recent trail work is nice.

Great little hike, trails and summits well marked with blazes and cairns. There is still snow on most of the trail. Traction is not necessary but definitely makes the hike easier. I drive an old sedan and had no issue with making it to the trailhead parking.

Great trails, well marked.

Another great day. Worth the hike to the Panorama Pub.

Great trail. Very well marked (blue). Panoramic views.

Parked at Boyd Hill Road entrance as the other parking lot was closed although the trail there was open. Very well marked. First 1/2 mile or so was pretty icy from packed snow. Intermittent ice from there on. Lots of mountain bike trails in the woods. A lot of big pines on the N side of the hill were recently toppled and have been sawed up. Nice easy walk except for the ice here and there, spikes were very handy. Very nice view to the N from the lookout point overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee.

WARNING be careful of where you park for this trail! I got to Wood Rd in Gilford and saw the signs for the parking area, but the road was an icy rocky mess and I decided not to risk it. So I parked along the side of the dirt road, there was one house at the end of the road that looked like it was under construction/not occupied. Man was I wrong. As I was driving away from where I parked I almost got RUN OFF THE ROAD by an angry man in a white truck. He informed me that he had taken pictures of my car/plates and send them to the Gilford and State Police, because no one is allowed to park there, clearly it is only HIS road. He yelled at me for a couple minutes not caring that I was only there to hike, VERY angry. A less than ideal end to a pleasant day.

Other than that the summits were nothing special, not a view at either peak. There were a few good viewing areas along the trails. Round Pond is a beautiful area to stop at as well. The trails were very icy on the way up and very muddy on the way back, I mean that is to be expected on a 70 degree day in February, but pretty dicey in some areas all and all. Not a difficult climb, good for beginners.

Lots of fun on this sunny February day! Super icy, you'll definitely need micro-spikes because some parts of the trail were glare ice. Everything was melting and some parts of the trail were like rivers. A great day hike!
