Did this trail Labor Day morning. Got to the trailhead at 9am and there were no other cars in the parking lot! Mosquitos were pretty bad on the bottom 1/2 so highly recommend bug spray. Very nice short hike - no views from the summit, but at the intersection near the top take the right - .1 mile to open ledges with lovely views.

I went yesterday when it was still in the high 90s. beautiful day and great views (not from the summit) but in the north meadows.i didn't expect rain till the following day but when we started heading down we heard thunder above our heads and it started to rain before we got off the trail. wasn't terrible cause it was so hot, but it proves to always be prepared when hiking on any mountain, no matter the size.

Moderate ascent, the views aren’t great.

We did the southern portion from the trailhead up as far as the point where the trail crosses the Templeton Turnpike Road with our hybrid type bikes and found it pleasant going. There were some places that were soft or sandy, but nothing that required walking and it was otherwise a very enjoyable ride. If the rest of the trail is as good, it would make an excellent longer ride; I don't know about the rerst personally, however. Also, alathough it is not shown on the map, there sis an additional leg that you can ride in the opposite direction from the southern trailhead out to Route 12 (three quarters of a mile or so..) This was obviously original RR right of way and is marked and gated as such. It runs out at Rt. 12 and where it would have continued on the other side of the road is posted private property. Overall, the parts we did left a good impression.

Love this park! Very shady on the ground trail.

good hike, not much of a view at summit

Great little trail for families and beginner hikers, is rugged in places , roots and rocks , beautiful view at the top , I've taken a few first timers there to get the feel of a mountain hike . Most enjoyed it very much. Come in mid July to see the rhododendrums in full bloom. The largest patch in New England , the scenery is beautiful. You'll swear your in a jungle , not New Hampshire

My favorite place to hike with my puppy! The view at the top is so pretty. I do this hike a couple of times a week.
