Overgrown, but worth pushing through the brush to make it to the end. End point offers over a 300 degree view of Lake Massabesic. This would normally not be considered a technical walk, considering it only has some rocks and roots that run across the trail, however, the overgrowth of the area often blocks your ability to see your next step, so go slow and try to focus on the ground in front of you, even though you will notice the beautiful view toward the end will be quite difficult to look away from. This is not a loop trail like this page says it is. There is one way in, and one way out once you're on this peninsula.

Easy walk, great for small children. The walk over to Saco River from the kiosk was well worth it as you could see how high storms have pushed up the river into the woods.

I've hiked many trails and this was by far the worst experience I ever had. Assaulted by flies from the moment we arrived. Trail was for the most part straight as an arrow and extremely uninteresting. Went there primarily to photograph birds and NEVER SAW A SINGLE BIRD in 2 hours of walking. Just the worst. Don't waste your time.

Nice early morning walk, only a few dog walkers early. On the way back out lots more Sunday walk and dog traffic.

Great little walk through a field, through the woods and around a pond. I wouldn't really call it a hike, but it is very pretty with views of flower field, river and pond. Super easy and short. Would be perfect for little children to walk in and enjoy some nature. One little thing. I was glad to have the map as the trails were not well marked and the app helped us make sure we were still on the trail.

Got attacked by mosquitoes and flys which made a nice easy walk awful:(

ok, decent trail, not clearly marked though.

Definitely not a road bike trail, or even a hybrid trail once you get on the end toward Watson. A decent challenge for the mountain bike though. Overgrown in some areas and a tree was down in another, so we turned around and came back sooner as we could not pass.

We had planned to drive up the road to the Sawyer Pond Trail, but road was closed at the turn off from the highway.

From the parking lot you can hike on a trail down by the river for about a mile before you hit a clearing and an abandoned road grade up to the main road. We tried to continue along the river from that point, but the trail disappears soon after. We had to scramble up a steep hill to get back to the road again.

The road is suitable for backpacking, biking, even a stroller. It isn’t too steep and is a fairly consistent uphill grade.

We fished the river and creeks without much success. A few 3-5inch brook trout were all we could get to bite.

The trail was VERY BUSY on Saturday and the parking lot was packed when we hiked out.

nice hike despite the overabundance of mosquitos and deer flies. no view to speak of at the top. some parts moderately challenging. all in all a good hike

Great surface (cinder and ballast) for a mountain bike, easy riding. Only saw two groups of ATVs on a weekday, two other cyclists. Not as scenic or rural as I expected, but still a great ride overall. We’ll be back to complete the ride.

Nice trail but quite dry during the summer. Lots of bugs - make sure to wear a hat, glasses and like sleeves!

Awesome rd with some killer views of river down steep hills. The road is closed to vehicles since the washout last year. About halfway down theres a pull off walk dont the hill and a sweet spot to swim

Lovely location and the yellow and blue trails were very comfortable for new hikers. The red was a little trickier for someone that struggles going up hill. It's easy enough to go back to the easier path, though. Not too many people to have your own space to relax.

The pond loop was great! Very easy to follow and nice views.

Nice trail and beautiful view. Not that many people when I was there. Was able to have my dog off leash and towards the end of the trail is open water where they were able to swim in.

Trail is marked, but all markers are the same color: you could get on a different trail by mistake quite easily if you are not comparing to GPS. some good rock scrambles and elevation changes. Mosquito problem is bad in the lower wet areas at this time of year. Met a few well heeled of leash dogs with no drama.

The trails were well maintained but the farther you got away from the 1st couple of trails the poorer the trails and intersections were marked, all kinds of things to take pictures of ie beaver lodges, flowers, and theirs also a decent amount of lady slipper flowers too.

Beautiful hike with our kids!

Loved this trail. Started by Kohl’s. Minor incline that was barely noticeable for the most part. Others using the trail were pleasant and polite. Trail did have a bit of litter though when you get further out. Overall a great trail! Watch out for horse poop!

Great trail if you start by a trail head. Very little litter and some police presence. Many parts become softer sand and a few of the people using off road equipment are respectful. I have recently been using the Northern Rail Trail due to them not allowing off-road vehicles. Last time I used this trail dirt bikers thought it was fun to do wheelies and kick up dust everywhere.

Nice easy walk down to the waterfall. Lots of places to sit by the water, away from the crowds.

Nice, easy hike through the forest. I like starting at yellow and following through to red, uphill for a bit of an easy workout.

Good set of trails. 3 main trails and a number of other unofficial trails.

Watch out if you are trying to go on yellow the whole way the bridges are out so it may be best to avoid for a bit.

Make sure to walk.all the way past the pond. There is a really pretty waterfall to the left at the very end. You will end up With a total of just over 3.5 miles if you go to the end. Very relaxing and peaceful out here.

There are more trails than just Willand Pond, depending on how adventurous you are. There is a trail over to Pete's Marsh and that is the area and path I take to come over to the pond.
This morning at the pond at the top of the map, which is Pete's Marsh, I saw 3 great blue herons and for the last 3 weeks there have been ring-necked ducks with young ones there.
