Absolutely loved this one. Hike was enjoyable. Summit offers amazing views. I’m not sure if I would say hard. Maybe in between hard and moderate. Very highly recommend!!

Only a few sections are hard and you get beautiful views along the ridge.

This is my favorite climb up monadnock. I am local and have climbed this mountain over a hundred times. I enjoy the longer stretches of vistas you get along both sides of the trail. I don't find it difficult as white dot. Maybe not a good trail to introduce someone to monadnock but definitely worth it if you have tried several others.

My 5 year old daughter and I took the dublin trail to Monadnock summit. We ended up clocking 5.1 miles with 1700 feet of elevation gain. Gorgeous hike that has a bit of everything. The first mile and a half or so was below tree line and featured a stream that runs alongside with a few intersects. We went the day after some heavy rains, so the trail was quite wet and muddy. My daughter loved the scrambling (theres a lot) especially as you get closer to the summit. This trail is definitely moderate with no sections that would qualify as dangerous for kiddos. This is a great first big mountain climb for young kids. As expected the summit was quite crowded, but we only encountered about 7 other groups on Dublin itself.

A VERY challenging hike on a hot day and the day after a rain storm. Much more challenging than the White Dot, White Cross trails because it's a lot longer...8.8 miles. Don't do it on a 85 degree day like I did.

What a great hike for the littles (w/ carriers)! We went with our 4 y.o. and 2. y.o. girls - popped them out at treeline and let them scramble barefoot on the rock slabs to the summit. Definitely a workout for mom and dad to treeline and your mileage may vary based on temperament - one child has been doing this with increasing assuredness since age 2.5, the other needs more encouragement, but they love the party on the top! The key is getting them out of those awful little kid shoes! Barefoot really helps them learn and maintain balance. Close-at-hand supervision recommended, but they are surprisingly instinctual as long as they can feel the ground. Do not recommend climbing at that age below treeline - lots of roots, slippery rocks, etc. but the cone is a blast.

Great hike! Probably the best way up to Mnt Monadnock. Starts out very gradual and wooded, then in true New England fashion you are scrambling up steep rocks. Very lightly traveled. Super fun!

I absolutely LOVED this hike. Steady incline until the last 45 minutes-1 hour where you're scrambling pretty much constantly. There were tadpoles at the top when we went too! Super cool to see that. The views were amazing, but seeing the size of the Rocky summit was just as good too. Bug spray is a MUST though, I was being assaulted the entire time by bugs haha

Fantastic hike!

Beautiful hike! Nothing moderate about this trail! It was hard and kicked my ass!! But, with my 7 year old grandson, my son, and my son in law, we conquered this! Rock scrambles...lots and lots of rock scrambling! Go at your own pace and bring lots of water and enjoy! The best part....only saw a handful of people on this trail.

Nice trail. First mile and a half is pretty easy, wooded, and flat. After that, it gets steep quickly. A lot of rock scrambling for the last 2 miles but with beautiful views the entire 2 miles to make it worth it. This trail is very lightly trafficked compared to the other trails at Mount Monadnock.

Def not moderate lol. Much steeper and longer then the white dot and more intense for longer distances

Great trail. Pretty gradual and wooded most of the way. Not particularly difficult and lightly travelled compared to other trails. Saw deer on the trail early in the hike.

Was raining a bit and was misty when starting - was extremely windy once we reached the top. Beautiful views as usual.

Happy Hiking. Stay safe.

took pumpbelly up, then dublin down (it was a car spot). my opinion not hard, but moderate. some scrambles but very doable for the average hiker. good views along the way.

Beautiful hike, if you have time you should definitely take this trail up Mt. Monadnock.

I was hesitant about parking at first because I only saw one car parked at the beginning of the trail, but nonetheless left my car there. After doing this I now realize you can pretty much park on the side of the whole road, since I saw loads of cars that had done so when I was done.

Anyways, very nice hike up. The trail gets a bit tough after about 1.7 Miles, but wouldn't say too difficult. The top has so many places to rest, that even on this day where there quite a few people up there I was able to find a secluded place to just take in the views and relax whilst having a small bite to eat.

Do bring bug spray as they were a bother for the first 2 miles. I did run into a snake, which for me was pretty cool, not too familiar with what type so I did exercise some caution as I don't normally see them back in Jersey. Wasn't a problem at all.

Overall, very beautiful trail. Do definitely recommend!

Went up white dot to cascade link and Up Spellman to the summit. While people have rated Spellman as the hardest trail to the summit, I would respectfully disagree. It is a lot of elevation gain over a short distance, but seems to be over before you know it. After getting to the summit, we took the advice of a local to go down Pumpelly and connect to cascade link, back to white dot trail. After going down Pumpelly, I would have to say that this trail would be much more strenuous going up than Spellman was. Either way, it was an enjoyable hike. White dot was very crowded on the way up, but as soon we turned onto cascade link, the crowds disappeared until we reached the summit. I would definitely advise bringing bug spray as the damp conditions in the trees seem to harbor a lot of mosquitos. All in all, if you want to avoid the crowded trails stick to Pumpelly or Spellman via Cascade link.

Full range of landscape's to enjoy as you hike, not heavy foot traffic (several times have had the trail to myself!), and some excellent views. Can do all seasons, although the upper areas get a bit icy. Good conditioning hike.

I hiked this trail yesterday. It's a nice way to avoid the traffic on the White Dot. I only saw one couple of hikers all the way up. It's a longer, but easier way to the top and it connects with the Pumpelly Trail which is the most scenic Trail going to the summit.

This was a long hike, very pretty but it’s 90% climbing up and down rocks. Wear bug spray

Pictures going into this hike did not do it justice. Just a beautiful enjoyable hike and view. Highly recommended. Trail conditions were very good. Some avoidable mud. Moderately strenuous to strenuous out and back. Mix of forest and exposed rock. Trail was moderately trafficked and definitely less than surrounding options. Several great viewpoints on the way up and down.

The ascent is very scenic. The ridge-walk makes you feel as if you’re climbing something in the Presidential Range. Coming down was somewhat tedious as the trailhead is so far from the actual mountain.

Challenging in winter conditions. Very enjoyable.

After searching for a long while, finally found Pumpelly Cave, one of the secrets of Monadnock.

Great trail, went up yesterday, look for days with low wind on the summit it was brutally cold at the summit. Microspikes are a must to do safely. Snow isn't too deep yet.

One of my favorite hikes. Monadnock is just the best within reasonable distance from me in central MA and this seems like the longest and most fun summit route. Amazing views, technical but not extremely challenging, scenery changes. Good stuff. Get there very early for parking - side of the road on a small road.

Planning a day hike tomorrow, unfortunately don't have time for the Pumpelly Trail because this is my favorite by far. Still on the hunt for the Pumpelly cave. Love that there are no crowds and it's well marked.

This is a less crowded trail up Mt Monadnock. Easy first 1.5 mile, then steep up for another mile or so. Have to climb up a few boulders which is fun getting up but can be challenging getting down. Great view as you head close to the summit with 360 view up top. Summit however is very busy and can get breezy. Caught the last bit of foliage today. Would highly recommend this hike. But would avoid when weather is wet as the rocks up top can get very slippery.

Very trafficked but beautiful especially in the fall
