beautiful trail with excellent views along the way. a bit steep..but hey..it's a mountain. the descent using microspikes was a bit tricky. crampons would have been better where the trail crossed the glades. We took about 90 minutes to the summit and enjoyed beautiful blue skies, on Feb 8th.

Stopped here with my best friend to take a little walk after driving around for a while. We watched the peaceful sunset for a while with the sounds of ATV's whizzing by in the background. Which is why this one only gets 3 stars.

Very scenic views. One of the best hikes I ever did.

Rode through here with my best friend back in December 2018 and it was so beautiful.

Went up here with a couple people from my Environmental Studies class and it was mentally refreshing. I'd do it again.

Took my mother and father up here back in August of 2010 and hope to take them back up again this summer.

Probably the most crowded trail on mount monadnock. If you don't like the crowds, I suggest finding an alternative way of getting up the mountain.

I'll definitely be doing this one again. It was a little chilly when I did it before. I look forward to hiking this one again when the weather is nicer.

Beautiful day. Got chilly up top but it was nice catching up with an old high school buddy.

This one's got sentimental value to me because it was my first real hike. The first mountain I ever hiked. Beautiful view up at the top. This was how I got into hiking. It's tough though.

Forever one of my favorite trails. I last did this one back in May of 2018 but I'll probably be doing it again in April this year. Can't wait.

I've hiked mount monadnock about 16 times. All the trails are great. Just know that Mount Monadnock is very crowded at the top.

Actually wasn't a bad trail. 5 stars just because it was a good destresser hike.

Beautiful hike up to the lake. 9” of fresh snowfall so snowshoes were perfect. Not much visibility at the lake due to the moderate snowfall. Highly recommend it and would definitely go again.

About six inches of snow with a thick sheet of slippery ice. Pretty good view at the top.

Did this hike back in Dec but forgot write review. Fun hike overall with a couple really nice overlooks. A nice day not too cold to trek the 52 WAV

It's a pretty spot bit it used to be much nicer before the clear cutting. The Ascutney view is fine but it doesn't have that same isolated charm it once did. The lower trails are fun and feel like legitimate woods, particularly the one that heads by the railroad tracks.

An absolutely beautiful trail, especially in the winter. I hiked it beginning of December. At that time, very icy. The ice formations and changes in terrain throughout the hike were so cool! Crampons highly recommended. Bring a portable phone battery if you’re looking to take pictures - it’s so cold near the summit that my phone’s battery was drained!! Too bad, because the summit was beautiful and it felt like such a WIN to complete. Warning, toward the top, it was pretty scary to climb at times since it was slippery and icy.

Feb 12, 2019: Trail was beautifully broken out / packed snow until about 4.2m. Used light traction down low and snowshoes above. Turned back at 4.2m due to incoming storm. Can't wait to come back and see the views in warmer weather. As others have said, moderate climb that starts to feel long near the summit. Easy descent and great feeling of solitude and quiet. Loved it!

Did this exact loop last weekend going counter-clockwise.. very difficult incline to maneuver in the winter especially ascending Carter Ledge (bring crampons for that). Really cool experience to summit!

Very icy, crampons recommended! We did it with micro-spikes, but wasn't really comfortable. Super windy at the top, but we got to see the sunrise, so no complaints!
