Typically spectacular Evans Notch hike. Last hiked on September 16, 2001. Arrived at Mt. Eastman parking lot on right side of Route 113 at about 11:00 a.m. Trail head a short walk farther up Route 113, on the left. Took Baldface Circle Trail to junction with Slippery Brook Trail, and latter to junction with Mt. Eastman Trail to the top. Arrived at top at about 1:30 p.m. Frequent breaks. Was moderately hard hike, but we were out of shape for it. Views at top are excellent and 360°. Down by 4:00 p.m. or so after spending some time at the top. Would be good hike for snowshoes.

I descended this trail after a hot July attempt at Baldface loop (going up the the S. Baldface side). Started late, ran out of time and low on water for completing the Baldface loop so I descended here and only copleted the section from the ridgeline down to Emerald Pool. This section in July has some nice flowers, and a refreshing stream crossing, but is devoid of views or other remarkable features. I encountered only one group of hikers on this trail on a weekend. Good for dogs I suppose.
