It was pretty awesome!! The falls where all breath taking, especially the big one, such a beauty! Took the yellow track, it was good and challenging. Coming down is steep and slippery, the leaves would make me fall on my bottom even with hiking boats and sticks. If you see a empty train track, take a right, then follow the blue and yellow signs to the lot!! Loved it overall.

Did this one on a lark. A sneaky difficult and fun l, short-ish climb with unexpectedly one of the best views of the entire region. The views at the top are easily 5 star on their own. I started at roughly 10 and was back at the car by 2:30 on a cloudless day

Amazing hike! make sure you do Bemis brook (yellow trail) that shoots off of the blue trail. Its a steep climb at the end but very rewarding as there is two beautiful waterfalls.

My favorite hike in New England! It always feels like you’re at the top but there’s always more to this trail, I defiantly recommend and make sure to bring extra water and some snacks

This is NOT a moderate trail. Very difficult due to sharp ascent pretty much 90% of the trail. All pretty much rock stairs up. Nice views though. Just not a leisurely hike up.

I always enjoy this one, So many peaks visable. Not muddy or slippery yesterday.

Great hike and waterfall! Great time of year to check it out :)

The beginning of this trail is currently under water and will take some creative maneuvering/ bushwacking to get past the first few hundred feet. There also seems to be a bridge out over a brook near the bottom, but it was a relatively easy crossing. Overall, a great hike, challenging but worth it for the great views. A little bit of snow near the top in places but it will be gone soon.

Hiked this one a couple of years ago. A difficult climb in places, spectularly rewarding at the falls, which are exquisite. The hike back to the world is less taxing and quite pleasant. pack snacks and lots of water.

Lots of fun. Snow and ice has melted enough that it was manageable for a newer hiker. Views are great and worth the hike. We went later In the day and were slipping quite a bit on the wet rock near the top. Plan to take your time coming down.

Excellent hike. Very icy sections this time of year but the falls are great. Properly equipped you will have a great time. Just FYI, the first bridge is out, but the rocks gave a decent path across.

An amazing trail. Bemis brook brings you by two more falls, and Arethusa falls are amazing! It's a bit of a challenge but continuing onto the Frankenstein Cliff portion gives you amazing views of the mountains surrounding the area!!! It's definitely worth the trek, and one of my favorites!

We went in late April, still lots of snow on the trail. I was not expecting anywhere near the amount of water to be flowing on the falls. Incredible. We hiked up half way through rain and it was worth every step. Take the Bemis brook trail up before joining the arethusa falls trail 0.5 mi up—you get two bonus falls, but a lot more unsure footing!!

Wonderful hike. Bring crampons this time of year.

Enjoy!

Very well-marked and beautiful trail. Challenging at some points. Amazing views!! Unfortunately I couldn't quite make it all the way to the firehouse- had a scary ice wall that I just couldn't cross. So close!! Will definitely go back to make it all the way to the top.

Fantastic views. Good for all hiking levels.

By far one of my favorite hikes. Not too challenging amazing 360 views with some shelter on top. Already can’t wait to go again.

Great little hike!

Great little loop. Snow was well packed, easy to maneuver. We took the puppy (echo) with us and she loved it! lots of other dog smells, haha!!

This was a great trail. We are beginners and found it well worth the hike to see the falls. They were completely frozen where we were standing on the falls. next time we need to complete the loop. Weather was getting a bit gloomy this day.

The trail itself is nothing special, though it is very well-marked and easy to follow. The view from the summit would make fighting your way through 3 miles of thorns and vines worth it, though. I climbed twice last summer, yesterday was my first winter ascent here and spikes are an absolute necessity. It was icy from bottom to top, with several sections of extremely hard, thick ice that showed evidence of people sliding once you got past the ledges. Full crampons wouldn’t be overkill, I brought mine “just in case” and we saw several hikers wearing them. Make the effort to really stamp your spikes in, and if you use poles drive those in as well.

It was a bluebird sky almost all the way up, but clouds started blowing in when we got near the summit. The views were still amazing, my partner was huffing and puffing his way up after 3 months of forced rest from a bad mountain biking wreck and he thought the views were worth the effort. The temp was maybe 5F, with 20+mph winds, so the 15 minutes or so we spent out of the wind in the fire tower after getting our pics were a nice break before the trip down.

Total time spent on the mountain, including breaks, was 6.5 hours. It was a very enjoyable hike, one I won’t have any problem doing again.

I went on a rather cold day a few weeks ago and broke trail. I would not consider this trail hard. I did the loop, coming from Arethusa Falls. It’s rather moderate, considering other trails in the area. It was hard only because we had to break trail, almost the entire loop. Although now there is probably mostly ice left..

Attempted July 2017. We didn’t make it to the top- got caught in a rain storm and the trail was quickly deteriorating, so we decided to turn back. Awesome views, crossing the river was a bit hard, both me and my friend got a bit damp from it.

Great view from the fire tower at the top! Trail was steep in sections. Nice view points along the way with lots of rock face towards the top. Micro spikes were a must!

Moderately hard almost all uphill trail to fire tower on top of mountain with great 360 degree views. Great cardiovascular exercise. Families were doing it with young kids but it is a rigorous hike.

First time hiking. first trail me and my girlfriend picked. its hard very worth it. over dressed not doing that again. it took all day. we stopped and rested couple times. this trail gives you everything well worth it.

Awesome, absolutely gorgous views and pictures.

Nice hike. The top mile was icy. I’d recommend spikes. The view from the tower was worth it!

Hiked up Arethusa Falls and around the loop to Frankenstein cliff trail loop.
At this time of year with a little snow on the ground....Arethusa Falls was fairly easy. Coming down the Frankenstein Cliff trail was definitely more difficult.
Great trip overall!

Hiked this trail last august. Didn't know about this app then. The waterfalls hike is beautiful and a great spot to rest and relax before heading to the cliff. Hike up to the cliff is very challenging but the view at sunset is amazing. Absolutely amazing. Hiking back down in the dark was a bit tricky but doable once reaching the railroad tracks.
