The scenery surrounding the hike was amazing on its own. Slight incline most of the way, nothing to worry about. The rock canyon at the end features some amazing butterflies and, if you like, you can continue past the “end destination” where the canyon opens back up. “Easy” hike, but you can choose to make it more difficult.

Lots of switchbacks, but most of the incline isn’t too steep and the hike back was a breeze. I’d rate the hike as moderate. Raintree is magnificent to behold and worth the trip.

A steady hike upwards and a bit rockier than most of the trails I’ve hiked in Charleston. The view at the end was amazing and worth returning for. We stayed up there for a good bit. I’d recommend going on a weekday, otherwise it will be somewhat crowded.

Have lots of water the last mile is the hardest beautiful view. Wear comfy shoes lots of loose gravil so be very careful

I found taking frequent breaks was helpful with the altitude climb

Great practice for high elevation hikes

Fantastic trail with a big payoff at the end... sitting with the bristlecones was a memorable experience for my son (eight) and I. Elevation makes the trail more moderate than it otherwise would be, but we still beat the minimum recommended trail time of two hours round trip even with a reasonable amount of time spent amongst the trees.

Nice and easy hike. Went around 8 am it was perfect weather, hardly any people. Easy to follow and some very pretty views. Close to the road though which was a bummer but will definitely go back. My dog had a blast ... we saw a bunch of squirrels, beautiful birds and a deer. (Along with all the unknown rustling in the surrounding plants) Plenty of wildlife and birds singing.

Awesome short trail with a steady incline. To get to the trail, park in the upper parking lot and just follow the unmarked trail at the end that runs parallel to the road. As others have posted, the waterfall area is covered in graffiti. There are plenty of flowers on the way though and today threre are DOZENS of Spring Mountains Icarioides Blue. I thought they were the Mt. Charleston Blue, but realized they weren't after taking a closer look at my pictures. I saw more than a few Western Tiger Swallowtail and Carole's Silverspot, and one Nevada Admiral.

This trail is really for people who want to rock climb. There's really nothing to report about the trail itself, it's super short with not much to see.

You’ve got to be kidding me. A walk around the block at my house is more interesting. Why is this in the app??

So beautiful and relatively secluded. Big payoff for a short hike- you can hang out at the beach (or the nude beach over the rocks haha) or climb around the rocks and hang out.

Great beginner ride. Would be great for kiddos too.
Paved the entire 3.1m with only sparse defects from roots of larger trees. Very flat. Excellent wetland views intermixed with suburban development/homes.

Challenging, 2300 ft of gain over the 7 miles total out and back. Start at North Loop trailhead. At 2.5 miles look for a trail the goes to the left. Take it a mile up to the peak. It is NOT 6.2 like AllTrails says. Full 7 miles for sure according to my Garmin and Strava.

don't go in summer, i went in the middle of july at night and i damn near passed out from the heat. its a very fun hike with a lot of climbing involved do be prepared for it, bring way more water than you usually would need and be ready for wet shoes.

We when down the trail from the top. Very long forest trail not hard at all. Very shaded from the sun.

Great trail. More of an incline than from the description. Beautiful beautiful. Did this with my 8 month old on my back.

Beautiful trail, follows the creek the whole way, steady mellow incline. Did it after work in a little less than two hours

It was a great short hike uphill, not too bad. For someone out of shape like me it’s a decent workout. But for those used to hiking and in good shape, this is an easy hike/walk. It’s so nice to walk through the trees and smell the pine. Lots of butterflies on the trail, especially closer to the water. There’s a great little waterfall at the end. Too bad there was graffiti galore on the canyon walls by the waterfall. Otherwise, very nice.

Steep beautiful and rewarding

Easy but make sure to bring water !!!

Great hike !! Great view of LV on the top. Last portion of the return is not easy

Great uphill rather tough. Beware if vehicles and horses. Great views

Closed. We tried to do it anyway since we drove all the way there, but it's not at all maintained and you can't go more than 1/4 mile in because of the erosion. (Can't say the sign didn't warn us) Hoping this gets fixed.

Beautiful views of Washoe Valley and a cool perspective on Reno. Some steep bike paths continue beyond the top of the trail if you're looking for some thrills, an extra challenge, and views of Mount Rose.

Great trail little just above easy due to narrow spots and few wash outs. Stock Toyota Tacoma 2018 did well. Very sandy for the most part. Connect this trail with the Genoa trail make for good 4 plus hour ride and about 20 miles

Great forest trails for stock suv 4x4 vehicles and good views. There are a few turn offs a map would have helped. Never the less it’s not to hard to navigate at that elevation.

Lovely Sunday afternoon ramble.
