Loved this hike! Starts off easy but definitely more challenging as it descends down through the rocks/boulders where the ropes provided are required. Good hiking shoes/boots would make a difference, we wore sneakers which did not have enough grip or protection. Rewarded at the bottom with a stunning vista of river and canyon with magical hot springs. Easier to hike out than going out n which was s welcome surprise!

Great trail! There are 2 peaks, each with switchbacks near the top. Very steep grade with loose rocks....not a great trail for kids. I would say 2 hours up (then down and up again) with about 1 hour back is the fast pace.

This easy trail had some good views and tunnels, but it was very slow moving. It would be much better on bike.

Awesome and very easy.
Very tight at the top.
Sucks that people spray paint all over.
People leave trash and do a mini fire pit.

Very good canyon hike, for the most part there isn't really a trail. Still a nice hike up a beautiful canyon none the less, well worth the effort. Saw a lot of horses as well.

Have not been yet but if you are going to give a rating take the time to leave a sentence or 2 than just giving it a 1-3 stars

Such an amazing hike! The views were incredible until the clouds moved in about halfway up, so I didn't get to really experience the view from the top. But I'll definitely be coming back on clearer day.

Amazing hike! Make sure to wear good shoes with traction and something that you wouldn’t care if it gets wet.

We walked the loop at this stop and enjoyed all of the amazing formations.

The loop is calculated at 6 miles by the Red Rock National Conservation Area people. I recommend parking at the White Rock Trail parking lot and hiking around the east side of the mountain. Then treating it like an out & back trail. This side of the trail has less people and is much more scenic. The north side of the mountain (the white rock) is beautiful.

Peaceful walk, so peaceful that even our kids felt like they had to talk quietly. We went on a Sunday about noon in March, and there were very few people on the way. This walking/running/biking path is in a very nice housing development. The are small playgrounds along the path.

Was a little crazy watch for falling ice pretty great day all round though

Incredible hike! This is definitely a challenge if you've never scrambled or used ropes before (like me). It helps if you go with a group so you can each other down and up. The hot springs are amazing and making it to the river is very rewarding.

Really fun hike, some rock scrambling and great views at the end!

Cool trail down a wash. Didnt see a single sole, and while only a couple of miles from my car it felt so desolate. Really cool experience.

Awesome colors, hard to comprehend how different areas so close to one another can be.

Overlook for Fire Canyon is breathtaking.

Really cool canyon with petroglyphs.

Great hike and a perfect day to do this open spaces hike. No water. In any of the creeks. Beautiful vistas and unexpected views of Vegas at the top.

Really fun trail! Was a soupy mess with the snow melting, but still had a blast. Trail was a bit difficult to find in the higher elevation of Peavine due to deep snow, but was able to follow along with the app. The only point that you could hear traffic, was along the southern part that ran parallel with McCarran. Good views of the Reno skyline. Nature trail part was interesting as well. Only passed a couple other hikers; lots of footprints suggest that the peak time is before 5 pm. Parking is difficult for the trail head. I ended up parking in the apartment complex lot. Was happy to see the car there when I returned!

Took the family on this little hike...did about 2 miles...lots to see and explore, saw a small trickling waterfall. The petroglyphs were a hit with the wife! My daughters did great and loved climbing some of the boulders in the wash.

Did Ice Box Canyon with my 21 y/o son. I'm 61 y/o. The guide given out at the visitors center rated this as a strenuous hike and AllTrails has it listed as moderate. It is not moderate at all. Very beautiful. After reaching the end and returning down we wandered to the right of the trail and ended up in a ravine. We needed to scale the wall of rocks to return to the trail. I'm very happy that I was able to complete this trail as most of my hiking is in Ohio. My right knee reminded me that this was a tough one.

It was an awesome hike. Nice and short and the view of the city from the top is beautiful!!!! Gorgeous multi million dollar houses. Wow!!! A bit treacherous as you go around the mountain top, where the pile of rocks are. Going back to the parking lot, steep rocks and gravel. But, going up the mount was pretty easy.

Excellent hike in the snow. Road was a bit muddy to the trailhead but definitely worth it

Running short on time, but wasn't ready to head off to work. This trail is great that it's so easy to access, not a whole lot of people, good distance from housing and has a good incline that you can get into. Nice view from the top.

trail running

I always enjoy running on this trail when I come to town. It is well maintained and mostly used by bikers.

Short in town trail. Paved and kind of random. Runs between houses and a marsh. Lots of song birds this morning and only a couple of dog walkers. Trail ends on one side at a shopping mall and the other at a school.

I took my kids (ages 8,5,3) and they LOVED walking through he tunnels. We walked through 3 tunnels and then turned back. My three year old walked the whole way but was moving pretty slow by the end. Beautiful views. I can’t wait to go back and run the whole thing.
