Nice hike and great views. My maps cut out and using the trail markers was a bit confusing at one point.

beautiful views of Tahoe

This was a great trail 9/15/18. Most hikers observed the dog on leash rule. Great views from the first Vista Point! Next time, we will go looking for the waterfall.

Great little hike. Great views!

Nice hike with an amazing view. Recommend this hike to get started...then go tryout different other hiking trails.

Good views. Trail is not clearly marked so it can get confusing to go down another trail path.

Was still closed from Kingsbury side until 5:30 per the sign. Headed to Carson to shop then came back from the Spooner side. Fun first trip for Wrangle JKU.

Great views of Lake Tahoe

I came across this trail/path on google maps.I decided to check it out on foot. I walked from the Harrah's Hotel to the first beach which was Neveda Beach. It's a very beautiful area to be in. I didn't see much wildlife, but only a few chipmunks. Getting to the beach area walking took a good over a little 1 hour walk to/from hotel. Later on I walked to the parking lot from Kahle Dr and ran from that point all the way to highway 50. You can go past the Nevada Beach and cross the street. Then eventually the trail path ends at highway 50. Round trip is 4 miles. So 2 miles there and 2 miles back. It was hot as it was still the summer time. The first 2 miles was in the sun and middle getting to turn back was all in the shade. If you want to beat the heat, go walking/running mid morning or early morning. This path was also great because there were no crazy motor scooters on path. No cars really around you in the area. There were people on bikes, but I just stayed to the far side to let anyone pass. The bikers go slow when passing. The path is 100% paved and clear path. No tree stumps popping up on trail so you don't fall as some trails can be uneven. I highly recommend using this path either for walking, running or biking. Yes it's super dog friendly. I saw people walking their dogs off leash and on leash as well.

Great trail leads right to the lake!!!

Lovely hike gorgeous views

this trail is an annual ritual for me. it helps me acclimatize to the elevation for longer hikes later in the week

Nice hike. The Trail could be better marked, especially in the beginning. Lots of photo ops.

Great hike! Easy to follow the trail!

Beautiful trail!

Road construction closed the road leading up to the trailhead so we had to take a pretty janky trail around the road to get there. Trail was great once we found it; well-marked with some cool views. Was a good workout for both my ten year-old and me!

Most of the hike was in the sun because of the Gondola fire. Recommend starting early. Beautiful waterfall.

Beautiful walk in nature for those who are not able to do a hard hike.

A very nice, yet challenging hike into the sugar pine forest above heavenly. There's a wonderful small waterfall that you pass by as well as several small creeks that you cross. The views are spectacular.

Up to the very top and back clocks in at 7 miles, so i'd advise you to not bring young children on this hike expecting to get to the top. There are some great places to hike to along the way, however, that would make a great short hike.

Bring some water, pack sunscreen, and have proper footwear as I saw a few people in sandals having a very tough go.

A really great easy trail that ends right at the Nevada Beach Campgrounds, which is one of my favorite spots in the universe. The trail leads you through meadowland and then curls back into some Sugar Pine. Pretty well traversed but you never really feel crowded. Chipmunks galore!

Bring your swimsuit as you're going to want to lay down a blanket and swim a bit. Honestly one of the best beaches on the planet. The water is amazing and the people are even better. I paired this excursion with a nice Pino Grigio.

off road driving

Closed - sort of. When I went to drive this on July 31, the road from Kingsbury to the trail head was closed due to construction. One of the workers advised I wait until the crew left and come back after 4pm when the road would be reopened, and it was. Good, easy trail that shouldn't put your vehicle at any risk - including Nevada pin striping. Lot's of places to stop, park and take a detour either in the vehicle or on foot. Great trail to take along family and friends who are new to / apprehensive of off road driving.

Beautiful views of Tahoe!!

A nice, easy trail for all ages. We like to stroll this trail all year round with the kids.

Nice walk with great views early on but there's little reward at the top, just a few rocks for a picnic before heading back down. Take plenty of water as some steep uphill sections are un-shaded.

Beautiful new trail! Could not quit taking pictures. Started at 7 am and almost the entire hike was shaded. Wasn’t very busy on a Wednesday that early in the morning, parking was easy, only saw 3 runners and two bikers the entire way until the last half mile on the return trip when several groups were headed up. So go early and enjoy the views!!

Awesome hike with great views!

on Castle Rock Loop Trail

Most of trail easy to traverse. Near Castle Rock have to scramble up to get views of Lake Tahoe

Amazing views and great workout. Some uphills to it but nothing too strenuous. Very happy with this hike and highly recommend. We saw dozens of chipmunks and a lot of wild flowers!

Great family hike — easy/moderate and very well-marked. We arrived at 9:45 am which allowed for easy parking, perfect weather and minimal foot traffic. Gorgeous views. Don’t miss the “Vista” sign — follow its direction for the best view of the lake from atop the rocks. Kids also enjoyed the California/Nevada border marker near the parking lot.
