I think I found this by accident haha.. I was hiking towards mjf and I stopped at a tan chopped down tree to rest a second. Instead of heading up right I went straight leftish and found a dried up creek and rocks to climb, and I had so much fun. No one was on the trail and I felt kinda lost but it was so much fun. I'd do it again

Very easy and also very short. Good for a quick change in scenery if you head north or south on the east side of Lake Tahoe and want to make a quick stop.

Gorgeous hike. There are now portapotties at the parking lot but they are pretty gross. Bring your own TP.
Nice lollipop if you take the alternate trail to Relay Peak Road and loop around that way back to the trailhead. Really nice hike through wildflower meadow. There is a small pond for a dip/wade - the dogs we passed were loving it.

My first hike and it was magical! Me and my 2 friends went past the waterfall to a cave above it and could see the entire valley! I would recommend this to anyone.

Perfect loop. Did it clockwise today. Brought the wife and dog along. Goodtimes. A mountain biker was having a bite to eat at dry pond and noticed a decent sized bear about 50 yards away. Walking towards him. He packed up his stuff and jammed down trail towards whites creek. All in all. A beautiful day. A bit smoky but well worth it. The dog had a blast splashing around in the water along the way. Walking through the aspens along the water was probably my favorite part.

It is worth your time. Good exercise . My friend and I spent almost 3 hours there. It will be smart if you bring your snacks and enough water with you. It doesn't hurt to bring your camera with you.

Great summer hike in Vegas area

Nice evening walk. Scouting out places for my daughters engagement photo shoot

took my kids with me, & they loved it!! We went sunday morning at 9 & the people were scarce; on our way back is when the heavy foot traffic began. I recommend heading out early to beat the heat.

Awesome first time hikers trail!!!!!

Really great if youre looking for a challenge for a beginner hiker!

I did this hike with my husband and our labrador. Its a lovely moderate hike. I there are some areas (with the switchbacks) that it is hard to see the trail and pretty rocky, but you will not get lost. The falls are a beautiful spot to rest and enjoy the view.

Nice hike. Easy for the most part. I did this hike on 8/4. it was very smoky that morning but by the time I got up to the start of the hike which was just under 9000 feet the smoke wasn’t really affecting me but it did affect the views.
It does start to incline shortly after the waterfall but no steep parts. its a pretty gradual incline even the switchbacks aren’t very steep. only difficulty really is elevation if your not used to it.
it was super windy at the top. about a half mile before I got to the summit the wind gusts were so strong they nearly knocked me off my feet a few times.
but once you get to the summit there are some rocks you can sit behind which blanket from the wind. if there wasn’t so much smoke it would’ve been a beautiful view. total hike took just under four hours that was with the rest stops to take pictures and lunch at the summit.

Good times! Good trail all the way up. Nice cold mountain water at the falls! I’ll be doing this one again for sure.

Easy hike to waterfall but not so easy to the summit, beautiful and worth it!

off road driving

Off road driving should be removed from this trails description. It is not permitted and there are boulders at the the trailhead preventing vehicles from entering.

Gorgeous hike. Less traffic on weekdays and colder days.

Excellent trail! Easy start to warmup and then kicks up at waterfall around 2.5 mile mark. Last mile is a beast but very rewarding.

It’s very smokey now. Air is dirty and views are limited. Hopefully better very soon.

I did this hike with my almost two year old. I carried her some of the way. Up by the waterfall it gets a little tricky with a little one as I didn’t want her to fall or me fall while helping her. It was a great hike though. I would do it again.

Beautiful walk in nature for those who are not able to do a hard hike.

Nice leisurely trail. Easy for kids alike.

A really great easy trail that ends right at the Nevada Beach Campgrounds, which is one of my favorite spots in the universe. The trail leads you through meadowland and then curls back into some Sugar Pine. Pretty well traversed but you never really feel crowded. Chipmunks galore!

Bring your swimsuit as you're going to want to lay down a blanket and swim a bit. Honestly one of the best beaches on the planet. The water is amazing and the people are even better. I paired this excursion with a nice Pino Grigio.

Nice view of lake at points.

Great views with a beautiful lake! The rocks and boulders get a little in the way for runners but I’ll run this trail again for sure!

on Lehman Creek Trail

The directions link (as of 7/30/2018) on here takes you to the Lower Lehman campground. You can start from there, but you can also start from the Upper Lehman campground which will save you nearly a mile in each direction. The "real" trail starts from Upper Lehman campground. Some people do it in the opposite direction and descend from Wheeler Peak Campground and than go back up (or maybe hitch a ride back? - cheaters!).

I gave this two stars because the first 2/3 are really boring (for me anyway). The trail is ok and the scenery is ok. It was very disappointing because you can hear the creek but the trail only takes you right beside the creek for about 200 yards! Seriously, that's it. Aside from that short stretch, you can hear it for awhile and then you can't even hear it anymore as you go higher. The top 1/3 of the trail gets much better from the point you hit the meadow which has very nice views of Wheeler Peak. The forest scenery is nicer after that too up to Wheeler Peak Campground. We saw some deer and wild turkeys.

For the experienced hiker, it's a moderate hike. For the casual/beginner hiker, it's a hard hike as it's an unrelenting climb until the meadow. There are very few flat spots before that point. It's a good workout but there are nicer trails.
