Did the trial in mid July. Very fun course, challenging at times depending on what you’re driving but very scenic. I have a 2016 DCSB Tacoma with 33” bfg’s and a locking rear differential. At some parts it definitely sped up the trail with the diff lock but I think an expert ended person could do it without. 4wd a must, I’d say about 12” of ground clearance is recommended.

Surprisingly nice little walk through the Damonte Ranch Wetlands. This easy 3 mile paved trail is a great spot for birding. Also, the best playground I've found in town would make it a great place to bring the kiddos.

I did this trail again today, and didn't pass even one other person! It took me 7 hours up and back, and that was only stopping for a few photos at the lake- no breaks! I was surprised that there is still a little water in the lake, and will post photos. The trail is in decent shape at the moment, no mud or snow, but this is a pretty strenuous hike, I must admit! One that I will likely do annually, but pushes my limits to do more often. There were many deer in the upper elevations, but thankfully no bears today!

Great for beginner bike riders like me

Great beginner ride. Would be great for kiddos too.
Paved the entire 3.1m with only sparse defects from roots of larger trees. Very flat. Excellent wetland views intermixed with suburban development/homes.

Not a very pretty hike

A decent urban walk. It is very easy and can be done on either the sidewalks or on the sand/gravel train slightly closer to the lake. The lake is pretty and his home to many birds. I saw both baby ducks and geese.

This was an easy trail. Enjoyed the ducks, turtles and all the birds. Any dogs we encountered, were on leashes.

Ran this trail yesterday, unfortunately had to stop about 1.5miles from the end due to the storm rolling in (last 10minutes of the descent was a wet one). Tough in a few areas, definitely need 4x4 and at least 1 locker. Did it in my stock 13’ Rubicon with mud terrains, did not get stuck anywhere. Must be ok with some light scratches from debris in the narrow areas (watch your lines). Lots of cool places to pull aside and picnic or relax. Don’t try this trail without some experience first

Thought we were never going to make it to the top. Definitely should be rated Difficult, and only because you go up from 5000 elevation to 9000 at the top. Did not get to see the pond because of the snow blocking the path. Snow was also melting and made it a little treacherous in some areas. Definitely recommend this trail to people who are used to big inclines and high elevation, not meant for people that are beginning hikers.

I really enjoy Galena Park. I enjoy the smell of the pine forest. There are small flowers blooming along the edge of the trail near the trailhead. Church's Pond is pretty with the mountains behind. I took the back way down and made the loop. Still a few spots with snow, but totally passable with anything more than sandals.

Hiked this trail 5/5/18. Excellent climb. Trail is primarily loose gravel fire road. Just when the loose gravel starts to get annoying it breaks for a bit. I saw only 2 other hikers. A couple of jeeps, motorcycles and ATVs. Not enough to be annoying. The trail to the “lake” is partially covered in snow but still easy to follow. It is more of a marsh than a lake, but pretty nonetheless. The trail is nothing marvelous with little to look at. The tree variety is interesting and the views of the City in the beginning are spectacular. I wouldn’t do it again except for training.

Fun trail that is easy to notice the changes in the flora while changing elevation. The trail from the peak over to the lake is still covered with snow, so plan accordingly. Lots of different trails that are easy to navigate with the app.

I hike this trail quite often as it is close to home. Gives a great panoramic view of the valley and is especially nice as dusk.

Fun and easy, nice views of the mountains around Reno

Started trail from North of Virginia City, and went West to Washoe Lake. Great trail for beginners looking to challenge themselves on a few technical spots throughout. Would not suggest a stock full size truck or SUV as the technical areas are quite small and washed out. Most of the trail is easy with the exception of previously mentioned technical sections which would be difficult for first timers without a partner. Full trip will take about an hour.

(Vehicle used was a 2016 Colorado with 2 inch lift and 32 inch tires)

Wow. This hike Is now in my top five in Reno. I have hiked almost every other trail, and this one was the most challenging, with the best views hands down!. I went on a weekday around 1 o’clock and there was virtually no one else on the trail with me and my dog. Wide set trail with changes in terrain and up hill almost all the way. The view even just 3 miles in of the whole city of Reno is jaw dropping. I can’t wait to come back and hike the full thing - will definitely be an accomplishment.
This is NOT the hunter creek trail, nowhere near it (this one is up past scolaris), and the directions take you right to the trail head. I would definitely keep the map open as you’re going the first couple Of miles if you want to follow the main trail. There are a lot of off shoots and you can lose the main trail easily without looking at the map.
Highly recommend this for a good workout!

Nice trail but difficult to maintain. Several trails branch, sending you in the wrong direction

I chose this trail for my Sunday Morning walk due to the recent snow. Didn't want to chance the mud before going to work. The trail had ice in some of the shaded portions, but with all of the footsteps it was never too slippery. Only a few others out this morning, so it was fairly pleasant.

Paved trail around the Damonte Ranch Wetlands. Saw Ducks, seagulls, a Heron and listened to a flock of Black Birds. No wild Mustangs at this time but looks like they were here recently.

Easy, pleasant walk. Friday afternoon - quite a few people and dogs on the trail. Lots of ducks and birds, along with their droppings. Best to stay on paved walk to avoid droppings.

This is the kind of trail that makes this app great! I've driven past this road thousands of times, but never driven down, looked at this hill more times yet, but never knew that there were trails on it. Nice open space that is easy to access, but city sounds are very distant. The trail is rocky as the natural topography. Be sure to stop lots to enjoy the view as you'll need to watch your feet while moving!

Easy to squeeze in before work trail. Quiet on a cold Sunday morning. If you leave the main trail, plan on cleaning your shoes before you get back in your car.

A fun and relatively easy hike with nice views of the Truckee Meadows. Not a tree in the area so take lots of water if you do it in July!

Great moderate hike up and back. The Pond has always has water and is a great place for a picnic

Well kept trail with a pleasant little pond at the end.
