Nice hike, parts are a bit rocky and steeper, but basically a walk thru a river bed. At the end on the walk in, a great vista view of a canyon and beyond.

Lots of petroglyphs, more than Atlatl Rock, easy trail, essentially a riverbed, a cave with water at the end with lots of insects and bats--so don't think you want to go in it, lots of lizards, squirrels, and saw 5 big horn sheep just off the road. Go early in the day!

amazing!!!!!!

Neat little hike with petroglyphs. it was extremely hot when we went (110), and even though the hike was short water was definitely needed. The grounds was sandy, with some rocks, so not the easiest to navigate for some. There was no pool to be seen when we went in late June. But a shady cave at the end, was a good place to cool down before going back.

Easy walk but entire trail is sand. Bring water! Was 104 when I went and even though it was a short walk, water is needed as there is no shade!

First part of hike consists of walking through sand. Recommend doing this hike early in the morning, due to there being no shade. Pretty relaxed hike with beautiful views. We did a little boulder scrambling and saw various large lizards.

Sandy trail but worth it - bring plenty of water as there is very little shade. Great views.

Nice easy trail with great spots to take photos. The trail did have a lot of soft sand so be prepared for that. But overall a nice hike

Awesome hike had a great time and the views are amazing it had caves, petroglyphs and awesome rock formations. We saw a bunch of bats on the hike out just after sunset great time!

Easy trail - not much of a hike as it is super short, but the trail is fun, sunny and has a ton of lizards all around. The elephant formation is cool, but can be seen from the road as well. If you are crunched for time, I would suggest skipping and doing one of the others in the park.

Cool little walk -- We did it as a finisher to a 4 miler. The petroglyphs are a nice touch. Once you hit the end, there's a hidden water pool.

Gets 3 stars for the view, but that did not look like an elephant. There is actually another formation on the back that looks more like an elephants face. Hot day but very short trail so no water needed until you get back to the park.

The petroglyphs are ample and interesting to look at. This short hike ends with a watering hole (where an outlaw supposedly used to hide out). You can climb the boulders nearby and continue to explore (there’s a trail that continues further). I ventured out a little bit but got nervous because it was insanely hot and I was alone. It’s also not super easy to traverse as the ground can be very sandy. If you come here in the summer, please be careful. A short hike can feel extremely intense. There is little shade. My friend got heat rash and had symptoms of heat exhaustion. Bring lots of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

I would agree with every word the lower comment David said about this being a bad trail that I would not waste my time with. I can say in my experience , this was no contest the worst trail in valley of fire, and the only one that I have a bad word to say about . It is annoying to walk through the sand, trail was not maintained well, views were subpar to the other trails, and to compliment I had a rattlesnake shake it’s rattler about 5 feet to the right of me about a mile and a half in. I would strongly recommend doing the other trails in Valley of fire before I do this

Super fun trail. Hard to follow at times, so deff download the trail. Great introduction to slot canyons

Did this partially because I’ve already done other two trails and the heat. It was a good easy hike. The red are kind was incredible. Quiet. I didn’t see anyone in this trail. Entrance was empty and you pay on your own (coming from East).

Was it hot? Absolutely. Saw a few animals climbing. Saw one other hiker. Carried enough water. It was beautiful. Loved the hike. Not hard at all.
