Lovely hike with plenty of views. At the waterfall I went up instead of across and ended up on a neighboring peak. Still managed to get some good footage. Check out what you are in for here...

Awesome hike. The stroll up to the waterfall is gorgeous and fairly easy. You then gradually climb with a couple of small water crossings until you reach the 1 mile to the summit sign. Then it gets pretty strenuous to the peak, but the views are so worth it. Alternate trail back was refreshing as it was fairly empty compared to the main trail. Part of its fire road, but you see a pond and great views of Tahoe, plus it makes it more of a loop.

I came across this trail/path on google maps.I decided to check it out on foot. I walked from the Harrah's Hotel to the first beach which was Neveda Beach. It's a very beautiful area to be in. I didn't see much wildlife, but only a few chipmunks. Getting to the beach area walking took a good over a little 1 hour walk to/from hotel. Later on I walked to the parking lot from Kahle Dr and ran from that point all the way to highway 50. You can go past the Nevada Beach and cross the street. Then eventually the trail path ends at highway 50. Round trip is 4 miles. So 2 miles there and 2 miles back. It was hot as it was still the summer time. The first 2 miles was in the sun and middle getting to turn back was all in the shade. If you want to beat the heat, go walking/running mid morning or early morning. This path was also great because there were no crazy motor scooters on path. No cars really around you in the area. There were people on bikes, but I just stayed to the far side to let anyone pass. The bikers go slow when passing. The path is 100% paved and clear path. No tree stumps popping up on trail so you don't fall as some trails can be uneven. I highly recommend using this path either for walking, running or biking. Yes it's super dog friendly. I saw people walking their dogs off leash and on leash as well.

One of the best trails. Bring Water and snacks if your going to the top.

Excellent hike. Enjoy an easier 5 mile loop to the waterfalls and back, continue to the summit for the challenging part. The views are worth it at the top. Take lots of water and snacks.

Great trail leads right to the lake!!!

Gorgeous hike. There are now portapotties at the parking lot but they are pretty gross. Bring your own TP.
Nice lollipop if you take the alternate trail to Relay Peak Road and loop around that way back to the trailhead. Really nice hike through wildflower meadow. There is a small pond for a dip/wade - the dogs we passed were loving it.

Gorgeous. I went for a trail run and was happy with how runnable it was. Well marked

Really great if youre looking for a challenge for a beginner hiker!

Nice hike. Easy for the most part. I did this hike on 8/4. it was very smoky that morning but by the time I got up to the start of the hike which was just under 9000 feet the smoke wasn’t really affecting me but it did affect the views.
It does start to incline shortly after the waterfall but no steep parts. its a pretty gradual incline even the switchbacks aren’t very steep. only difficulty really is elevation if your not used to it.
it was super windy at the top. about a half mile before I got to the summit the wind gusts were so strong they nearly knocked me off my feet a few times.
but once you get to the summit there are some rocks you can sit behind which blanket from the wind. if there wasn’t so much smoke it would’ve been a beautiful view. total hike took just under four hours that was with the rest stops to take pictures and lunch at the summit.

Easy hike to waterfall but not so easy to the summit, beautiful and worth it!

Excellent trail! Easy start to warmup and then kicks up at waterfall around 2.5 mile mark. Last mile is a beast but very rewarding.

It’s very smokey now. Air is dirty and views are limited. Hopefully better very soon.

Beautiful walk in nature for those who are not able to do a hard hike.

A really great easy trail that ends right at the Nevada Beach Campgrounds, which is one of my favorite spots in the universe. The trail leads you through meadowland and then curls back into some Sugar Pine. Pretty well traversed but you never really feel crowded. Chipmunks galore!

Bring your swimsuit as you're going to want to lay down a blanket and swim a bit. Honestly one of the best beaches on the planet. The water is amazing and the people are even better. I paired this excursion with a nice Pino Grigio.

Awesome trail. The meadows are amazing. We had a gallon and a half of water between three and it was enough, but we didn't go all the way to the top.

A nice, easy trail for all ages. We like to stroll this trail all year round with the kids.

We hiked to and above the waterfall. The wildflowers were pretty, especially in the meadow trail near the waterfall (direction of Mt. Rose Summit). Lots of hiking options from the trailhead. The hike was easy/moderate. The terrain was chaparral, some trees, but not a forested area.

This is a very large section of the Tahoe Rim Trail. I started off early in the morning and was finished just as the heat of the day was full on. Christopher's Loop is marked as "Sand Harbor Overlook" by signs on the trail. This whole section is very well marked on the trail as to just where the TRT is, sometimes determining it looking at various online maps makes it somewhat questionable. They've done a great job with this section!

Great hike overall. The first 3.5ish miles are pretty level and pleasant to hike along. It's a little after the waterfall that the incline begins and then it's a mostly uphill hike the rest of the way. The incline never gets too bad though. Views from the top are great, even with the smoke from the fires.
Bring lots of water. There's lots of parking at the trailhead, just be mindful that the restrooms are closed (for maintenance).

This hike involves waterfalls, wildflowers, and butterflies. There are beautiful views the entire walk. Restrooms are not available at the trailhead. We needed more water than we normally do on this sunny July day. We saw others that were out of water as well.

Great hike with beautiful wildflowers and butterflies. It took about 4.5 hours with 30 min up on the summit (plus 1.5mile detour to explore).
And restrooms at trailhead are closed, so plan accordingly :)

The last mile to the summit was the hardest and the winds near the top were relentless, but the view was amazing at the top and so was the view along the whole trail. Lots of wildflowers and butterflies. The waterfall is a great destination for someone who doesn't want to hike all the way to the summit. Make sure to hike to the top of the waterfall for a great view too. The restrooms at the trailhead were closed.

Great peaceful hike... wild flowers in full bloom. The trip to the top was moderate but definitely doable. Bring water. Nice breeze at the top. The view was amazing!

Spectacular - may all of your switchbacks lead to amazing views! ~ 5 hours in and out while spending 30 minutes at the summit and occasional resting. Hit the trailhead around 8:30am - starting a little earlier may have been better. Summit was perfect - nice wind, felt like 70’s..

Spectacular - may all of your switchbacks lead to amazing views!

Beautiful hike. Plenty of viewing areas all along the way. Definitely need extra water and snacks. Waterfall is a great treat at the beginning of the hike. The rest of the hike to the summit gradually became more difficult, definitely worth going to the top. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Perfect long hike! Make sure to bring plenty of water and food. We needed more. Took us over 5 hours. Great experience.

New hiker and this trail was absolutely beautiful. The views are amazing. It was challenging for me at first but once I got past the .90 mile it wasn't nearly as difficult.I was a bit nervous going by myself but got there at 7:30 am and there were quite a few people there. Very friendly and their dogs too! The hikers with pets took very good care of the trail. I was pleasantly surprised as other trails closer to Reno are not as clean. I will be going back very soon. This is one of my favorites to date.
