*beginning of trail follows bubbly, gurgle creekside that is wonderful.
*connects up to the incline flume trail where presently there is logging happening.
*plenty of water for the dogs.
*mileage to incline flume trail at highway 431as a turnaround point is about three miles....so 6 total miles for this hike.
*mountain bikers haven, so mind the traffic.
*some terrific views near the top at 1.5 miles and 1.9 miles....a few more too...
*lovely way to go, and shady for a destination on a hot day.

Very well kept trail, beautiful views.

I did the Upper Thomas - Dry Pond - White’s Creek loop on a Monday morning. Beautiful. Mostly in shade, except for the downhill side of Dry Pond. Not too crowded, lots of friendly dogs being walked and a few courteous mountain bikers.

Absolutely stunning views of the fossilized Aztec Sandstone dunes and volcanic rock formations higher above, but anyone allergic to bees should know that this trail is currently overrun with them. This is possibly due to the nearby picnic area.

Fun & easy! Canyon part towards the end is dope.

a great quick Work out

Kept going to the Mt Rose Summit, but the views at Galena falls were nice.

This was a great hike. My wife and I found it challenging mainly because we live at 580ft above sea level and are just visiting so hiking at 6000 to 8000 feet is different. Trail had many lovely views. We saw mountain bikers and day hikers along the way. Only negative is that after you leave the lake halfway thru the hike the return part of the loop is hard to find. We had to back track as we missed the return loop and found ourselves on the Flume Trail by mistake. We did the loop counter clockwise.

Quite the climb but worth it. had to set the pace to endure the at least 3.5 mile climb up over rock steps in points. waterfall is cute but not the main feature in my opinion, the views looking down on beautiful South lake are gorgeous on a sunny day. there are sections of trail both in exposed sun but also plenty of dense shade so there is a great variety. getting up to the TRT is worth the accomplishment but not climatic. the perfect spot for the best photos is about a quarter to half mile past the waterfall to get the full photo ops. go further and you'll see into another canyon, at the end you'll see down in the Nevada valley, I believe Carson valley but hard to get a great pic through the trees, could have if I was interested enough. would like to do the TRT some day.

This is great trail with beautiful views. The leaves were just starting to change and there was so much to see and take pictures of along the way. Next time I plan to keep going all the up to Griffith peak!

This wasn't an easy hike for us (family of 4, with a 4yr old and 9yr old). Maybe we are just out of shape but I would call it moderate, not easy. It started out easy enough but then goes straight up and is more like mountain climbing. We had to stop several times and there were younger (more in-shape) hikers that were stopped as well.

The trail is also very hard to find if you don't know the area. The map will take you to a closed off gate and Little Falls isn't even listed on the newer maps. You don't know if you are on the right trail until you are halfway there. We just followed the directions written by someone else on here and finally found it after about 10 minutes of driving back and forth and searching for "stairs".

Amazing views at the top, of course, made this trek worth the climb. The trail is wide and mostly a series of ski runs. Overall it was a good experience but I didn’t enjoy looking at all the ski resort machines along the way. You can find the trailhead behind the lodge at the end of the parking lot.

The trail is paved. The amazing 240+ degree views of the lake are worth this quick hike.

Super easy hike. We did this after we got off the plane to stretch our legs! Amazing views!!

Easy to follow trail that offered some beautiful views. Minimal shade, especially noticeable with a mid-day hike in September!! We heard a few birds but not lucky enough to see any wildlife today.

Did this trail in a 2019 suburban, was a horrible idea yet beautiful views. Road was very rough although any 4x4 with high clearance will do fine.

First hike in the Mojave Desert. The rock formations and views were beautiful. Don’t stop at the “tank”..... if you’re up for a short steep climb, you’ll soon find yourself on a summit overlooking Las Vegas. The trail had a bit more rock climbing and scrambling than expected for a moderate hike, although we were up for the challenge. Once you get to the rocks, markers are nonexistent and its not uncommon to be looking for the right “path” on the way out. Highly recommend!!

It was nice.
The road was ok for my 2WD dodge.
I would recommend your hike boots water bladder and a light snack to rest at the “glyphs” The rocks do slip a little the petroglyphs are light but along the trail In about 0.5miles
Elk bounce around :)
It was beautiful out 9/2018

September 23, 2018. 80F in Reno and 60F at the trailhead. 2:35, 10.1 miles, 2321 feet elevation gain. Lightly jogged most flat and downhill. Busy, but it was a clear blue sky Sunday. Three other folks who jogged it, another guy was hiking it with bare feet! So it’s moderate, but add in jogging or BARE FEET and it will be hard.

Pretty walks through the trees and lots of shade and a nice view at the top. You can continue the trail to complete lower bristlecone, but you will have to hike back up the road to your vehicle.

Touch climb, but if you can stay determined and reach the top, you'll be grateful that you did. Gorgeous views and photo opportunities.

Great trail, beautiful views. Only downfall was about half the hikers were maling their own path and causing rocks to slide down from above.

Great hike, rewarding views! If you like switchbacks, this trail is for you!

Who in the world ranked this hike as moderate!! After the first nine tenths of a mile the hike starts getting real steep and the path is hard to find and stay on. With the AllTrails however, it makes it easier to stay on track. It is a pretty tough climb to the first ridge and then it's still steep but at least the trail is easy to follow. The views are spectacular and the climb is rewarding. I'm glad I did this route ONCE, but I'll stick to going up the other side. Going down is also kind of hard.
