Easy and the bridge is great

This is part of the River Mountains Trail system. I decided to stay along the asphalt cycling trail and got bored pretty quickly. I turned around once I could see Lake Mead and the highway.

We did only a small section of this trail. We walked .2 miles to a view point that looked into the gorge where there was a waterfall below. We did not go further into the trail as it was midday and there is not one tree on this trail. It's just flat, treeless terrain. Though at the trailhead it says the trail is not maintained, at least the section we walked seemed well maintained, rock lined paths. Not sure how the rest of the loop is.

Excellent views!

Nice well pathed trail up to one of the Black Mountain peaks. Easily accessible to the top in one hour for the experienced hiker. Short switchbacks with cool rock formations make it interesting to ascend with excellent views of both the Strip and Lake Mead at the peak.

Awesome! Great trail with some amazing 360 views if you make it to the top!

Easy one hour round trip hike, beautiful natural arch.

The first couple miles of this hike is through a dry wash. There are a few pour over rock walls to scramble up, but they aren’t too hard. The trail up to the summit is narrow with steep drop offs, so the hike is not for those with fear of heights. The views at the top are outstanding.

great smooth hike not more then 2hrs

Not much of a hike, but the dogs liked it. Easy parking - well marked trail down to river. Mostly rocky shoreline. Probably not the best location for a family picnic. Good for a jaunt down to river and back. Some people fishing and said they have caught bluegill and bass. Lots of carp.

great trail. nice size parking lot at trail head, well marked, great views as you head up hill, good hiking surface of hard packed crushed rocks. All in all a great hiking experience.

Paved the whole way, the bend offers the only decent view.

Great trail! Simple switchbacks up to a false summit, where you have two options to proceed: a bike path (Red Mountain) or another couple of switchbacks and ridgewalks to Black Mountain summit, where Lake Mead is actually visible. We chose to turn around and head back at the false summit because it was getting dark and we had to continue driving.

Summary: easy, rewarding, dog friendly. Ample parking and not a crowded trail. Would highly recommend.

The long winding lead up to the switchbacks is confusing but well marked if you're paying attention. Don't confuse the path with the bike paths.

Hoping this would be an ok running trail, I was pleasantly surprised by the view and, while not a great running trail, the moderate technical (1,200 ft+ climb, rocks, scree) aspect. Good for morning/evening hikes in summer (not much shade), and nice views of LV and Lake Mead/BC. Bring water.

Had a great time hiking yesterday with my wife ... well worth the view when you get to the top ..

Beautiful distant view of the strip and Lake Meade.

Hard to determine where the trail actually was. Very relaxing as we were really the only ones out in the middle of the desert.

Completed this trail loop in about an hour. Area is under construction and is open to hikers during the weekend and holidays. Not the most scenic but still an interesting hike with different elevations. Some wildlife was roaming around, like a coyote that caught a fish in the wash.

The Hike from trailhead to arch took us a little over an hour because of many sidestops along the way to look at geologic formations, and flora and fauna. I went with my three kids (11, 10, 8) and none of the bouldering or dry falls were beyond their abilities. They are experienced campers and hikers so that should not be used as an indicator for taking a novice child out. Some of the dolomite was quite sharp when used as a hand hold going down.

We have already agreed to come back again after spring bloom as there is plenty of evidence of a multitude of dormant plant species, butterflies should be abundant as well.

Not the most scenic trail and not well maintained, but still interesting.

Great trail only accessible from the Colorado River just below the Hoover Dam. Walk through wash from the river then enter slot canyon and encounter numerous waterfalls. There are anchored ropes to assist in climbing up some of the waterfalls. We had to head back to river so we never got to the end but what we did complete was excellent. Lots of scrambling and great photo ops. Note- there is a 7-8 mile Boy Scout Canyon trail accessible from the Lake Mead NRA but that trail ends at a 300ft drop off (I believe where the Hot Spring trail ends).

I thought this hike offered one of the best views of Las Vegas. Bring plenty of water and I would not advise this hike during summer.
