We hiked down the main path to the beach. The water is crystal clear and beautiful. There are rocks that we swim out to and jump off of... The water was cool but the sun was warm so we sunned ourselves like lizards

not really a defined trail. had a few wild horses block part of the path and there were lots of birds around but overall wasn't what I expected from reviews here :/ meh

So beautiful and relatively secluded. Big payoff for a short hike- you can hang out at the beach (or the nude beach over the rocks haha) or climb around the rocks and hang out.

The views were beautiful! The walk to the beach isn’t all that bad. My family and I stayed at the beach for a few hours before we turned back. This trail could be either an early morning walk to get you ready for the day or an all day excursion.

Sand Harbor is just picture perfect as it is, so anything step you take there is just amazing

Beautiful beach, easy to get to.

beautiful trail!! for those wanting a bit of a challenge you can take the short cuts and avoid the hairpin turns going up or down, there's a slight thin "trail" that guides you through the brush

I'm surprised this trail is open year round. We went on 6/6/18 in 101 degree weather. It was brutal. The trail is not clearly marked at all. We followed what we thought was the trail which lead us to an 150-200 foot dead drop. We wandered around until we found what looked like another trail. Luckily smart hikers stacked rocks which eventually guided us down to the river. The river was beautiful and a welcome reprieve. There is a lot of scrambling climbs, and loose rock, so you need to be experienced. It was so hot, that the tread on my hiking shoes literally was burned off! Coming out, we got on what we thought was the Lone Palm trail, and it took us way out of the way, and away from the direction we needed to go in. We tried to use GPS, but service was in and out. Google couldn't pin our exact location, and the apps for hiking were of no use. We spent an hour by the river, after it taking 2 to get down. It took us wandering for 4 hours to get back to our car. We were almost at a point of calling search and rescue, as we ran out of the gallon per person and 32oz Gatorade each. I don't recommend doing this alone, inexperienced, or in the summer months. Unless you have a trail guide that will actually have you on the correct trail.

awesome hike, sadly didn't make it to the bottom; you absolutely need to bring a rope or have enough people in your group to pull or lift each other up. that part can not be emphasised enough. lots of going around and over boulders.

I loved it!!

Easy walk/run/bike ride with a gorgeous lake view on Nevada Beach. Evening nature walk will result in stunning Tahoe sunsets.

Gorgeous views!!!

Great 2 mile loop for a walk or easy run. All paved and around the water. It’s a regular pitstop for me.

We arrived at the parking lot around 7pm and walked to the Whales Beach for sunset. The view is awesome!

Great place to go when you don't have a lot of time and do want to enjoy great views of the lake.

Amazing views all the way down, with some valley/big lake/snow capped range views framed by massive conifers. Fun rock scrambling along the lake, with some neat jumps and balancing. Stunning sun sparkle on turquoise harbor water. The only knock was the number of people making it hard for photography and finding a meditation point. Probably our fault for going on a Memorial weekend; I would likely give 5* mid week.

After hiking the Eagle Falls Trail with my wife this morning I decided I needed a good cardio workout. I chose this trail because it was flat and recommended for running. It’s a very simple trail but great for a short run. I wish I could have taken the time to read the markers along the way as it seems there is a story that goes along with this area.

Parking is a bit of a challenge. That's a great thing as everyone else will have the same issue! I'm always a bit wary of a trail that goes down from the start but this one really isn't too long or steep. Lot's of big trees to enjoy. A large meadow that you'll catch glimpses of. The harbor is fairly small, but as beautiful as all the others in Tahoe. Nice having the signs about the bit of history associated with the area.

Great walk along the shore of Lake Tahoe. Despite there being a lot of people around, we also saw a lot of birds (osprey, common merganser, white-headed woodpecker).

This trail surprised me. It's nice to have water back in the lakes. Seems that the wildlife appreciates it as well. I always get a kick out of seeing the wild mustangs and this time there was a fairly young foal that was playing with several of the older horses. Lots of birds to watch and a few other critters for the dog to get excited about.

Greeen!

This hike is a lot of fun; a bit of scrambling, light climbing and beautiful views. The way down is relatively easy, however the way back up can be a bit more challenging based on your experience level. It requires a bit of climbing, and you will need to go up and around a couple spots where the trail seems to be at a dead end. I actually did this hike twice in a week, as I lost a silver chained dog tag that my wife gave me, and was hoping to find it, with no luck. If someone happens to find it, please get in touch.

Park is still closed for the season as of 4/23 so parking is off road. Directions to the parking lot on this app is slightly short - keep going on 28 another 0.7 mile or so and you’ll see the park entrance on your left. Very nice views from east side of the lake.

Lovely and easy trail down to the water. Crystal clear, would be nice in warmer months to take a swim. Old party house was cool. I can imagine this hike is very busy in the summer as there were lots of people hiking it in April cool weather. A boat was in the bay anchored for a lunch break too.

Great hike down to a not too busy section of Lake Tahoe. We love to bring a picnic and enjoy the day from this spot. The old party house is pretty neat, I can imagine all the Gatsby type parties that were thrown here back in the day. Getting back to the road is pretty steep so pack lightly.
