The loop is great, and the off leash area close by is the best by far in the area

Much longer trail than this map indicates, and a good way to ride from downtown to 88th and Highway 2. Thank you, city government, for repaving along Normal and 70th.

Loved this trail, only bad side is they have trails going to places that end, like up to the pavilion on the hill, you have to back track down to meet the main trail, some signs that says where it goes and if it dead ends and you need to turn around (did have horse trail you could print use, but not if it's wet/muddy). Great for walking, running, jogging, bicycling. Has other trails you can explore, when it's not wet or muddy. Playground area, boat dock.

Very nice, well maintained, paved path that runs past the park and pond.

Really nice walk. You feel out in nature in the middle od town.

Great local walk. The ice is frozen over now with ice fishers in their huts out in the center of the lake. Deer tracks on the ice and in the snow.

A walk in the park. Easy 3.3 mike paved route. There are a number of off ramps that allow people to get off the beaten path and experience some mild terrain as well. A decent mountain bike trail as well. Take your family and the dog, this hike is made for everyone.

Great trail run off the beaten path.

This trail is a very well maintained and clean paved trail that is very good for running, biking, and easy relaxing walks.

We live really close to here and it has become our default walk, ride and run for when its a nice day and we just want to get outside. Its mostly flat, with one small hill and is paved the whole way around. There's always plenty of people of all ages out fishing in the lake, and sometimes they even catch something!

been going here since I was a teenager. I have a dog I like to bring with me and my 11 month old son has been enjoying it too since he was 6months old. I do have to say keep your eye out for people that don't have their dogs on a leash and people that don't restrain their dogs when you are trying to run/jog. Make sure to bring water. And my only complaint that I know is natural is the goose poop alllll over the trail in the best part in my opinion of the trail.

- Paved road but soft grass to the side
- Clean/Excellent upkeep
- A lot of easy to moderate elevation transitions
- A good mix of open areas and shaded areas
- A lot of rest benches

- Paved road so there are a lot of cyclists. They tend to go fast so you really can't wear headphones/earphones while running. I just saw two cyclists zoom by while runners were forced to jump out of the way

Overall, this trail tailors more to cyclists. If you plan to run this trail, make sure to keep your headset music at a low volume so you can hear incoming cyclists.

The walk is peaceful and even more so kayaking on the water! Something beautiful to see in every season. Great for kayaking, walking, photography and much more!

I live along the MOPAC trail & love how easily accessible it is from our home. The trail is crushed limestone, so it does have a tendency of being muddy after it rains.

The trail runs along the old railroad line, through some densely wooded areas & through a number of towns.

The ride from the trailhead in Lincoln out to Eagle is a nice ride & a very popular ride on Tuesdays from April to October. The park in Eagle, right off the trail, offers a nice resting area with modern restrooms & a drinking fountain.

This was a pleasant walk! My 5 year old and 9 year old along with our 3 year old Husky had a wonderful time! Everyone we encountered was very friendly. It was a very flat trail! Can't wait to take the bikes out there next time!

Very well maintained. Varied scenery. Tree canopied trail. Open trail through corn fields. Right along the river and high limestone outcroppings. A very nice ride. Peru municipal park has rest rooms. Brownsville at the south trailhead has a winery, cafe and other places to "refuel". Parts of the trail received .5 to an inch of rain the night before. No issue with a soft trail. It managed the rain well.

Great place for easy walks and run. We exercise us and our pets here:)

I took my dog for a walk. The trail is completely flat. It's gravel. The first 3 miles have great shade/tree coverage. I can't wait to go back and trail run and bike this one. Parking is a bit tricky, but I just parked across from the park in Springfield and picked up the trail.

I great for walk or run.

Concrete trail. One hour loop. Markers at every tenth mile. Good lake view for most of trail. Covered areas for a picnic. Number of fishing piers. Mostly flat.

This is a pretty and well-maintained paved trail. It is an easy trail as well. Walking along the trail doesn't feel like hiking but it is a nice walk. The trail was busy when I went but the other walkers and bike riders were very friendly and courteous.

The trail is smooth and well maintained. Not too busy. One spot that does mud over during storms.

Not my favorite as a trail to walk my dog on. A number of the cyclists seem to act like they "own" the trail. Rarely did anyone announce themselves if they were coming up behind me to pass, and a couple of times side-by-side riders pretty much took up most of the path so I had to go to the edge and have my dog walk in the grass.
