Great trail for road running training! I love to go around the back side of the museum but the parks and views in town are fun as well!

Nice view of downtown Omaha. Good picture spot at Nebraska and Iowa state line on the bridge

Nice little loop. Clean well maintained restrooms.

I’ve been on this trail 3 times so far. It circles the lake and is very peaceful. It’s pretty well maintained throughout all seasons. There was a bit of ice last year in winter months. I love that it is a perfect 5k loop. This is my go to trail this far.

My husband and I enjoyed this trail and ended up walking on UNO campus to the rose garden and memorial. The memorial is beautiful and well cared for. I look forward to taking my mother here.

Not bad for Nebraska. Some decent inclines, decent views of the river, and trail is in good condition. Take bug spray!

Nice trail. There isn’t any stops directly on the trail so look up places to stop if you need to. Some spots wash out the pea gravel, which they’ve filled certain areas with some bigger rock.

Walked with my hubby this morning, beautiful trail
I would suggest signs for distance and side trails.

Nice easy walk. Good view of downtown Omaha from the Iowa side. The sculpture honoring labor is worth a view.

The bridge from end to end is 0.9K. Nice views and there are often concerts and festivals held on either side.

Tried it for the first time today. Very nice with just the right amount of ups and downs for beginners. We will do this again!

If you are in the area Smith Falls is an absolute must see. On a road trip through the area? Stretch your legs and spend some time here. In recent years this area has become a destination for those who like lazy river activities and beautiful lush green camping. And for good reason. This is a gem of a find in a very unexpected location. That being said, the waterfall by itself is not something to drive across Nebraska for.

Pretty lake but not much of a “hike”. We were passing through and wanted to get a short hike in. It was OK but wouldn’t plan a day around it.

Unusual rock formations. Be sure to grab the numbered pamphlet with the explanations and descriptions.

Easy, accessible, and the tallest waterfall in Nebraska! Good job Game and Parks!

The description on the State park map doesn't match some of the trails. We hiked the trail 5 and 5a portion of the Hardwood trail. Lots of up and down action but the trail is very eroded from equestrian use and not well marked. I would not recommend hiking this trail in wet weather since there is no gravel and the soil can be very slippery.

A great trail. All concrete. Great for bicycling and other activities. Not much traffic. It goes both in town and out of town. We visited the Stuhr pioneer prairie museum on the way.

love this unrated place.

Historical value, nice wagon exhibits, fun to see the swell/depression of the trail. doable by most even with limited mobility.

My husband and I appreciate that portions of this trail look and exist as the land would have been a hundred plus years ago. The authenticity achieved by preserving nature and keeping all native plants makes it kind of a unique experience. We enjoyed seeing some wild flowers and going through some forestland..We also liked feeling the early pioneer spirit and seeing what they would have when they first got to Nebraska/the Mid-West. It helped that we visited the museum and watched the patriotic and informative video first. I'd recommend this trail!

This trail is pretty in every season! The lake views are great year round, but especially at sunset time! There are various kinds of trees along the trail, and it keeps it cooler (in many areas) even on hot days. The skies are big and easy to see, which makes it great for around sunset time and for star gazing. My husband and I like that the trail is wide enough for us to walk side by side and still pass other people coming in the opposite direction.

I think it's fun to walk on the lake or go ice skating, when it freezes over in the Winter! It's also lovely for kayaking or canoeing during the other 3 seasons. There are benches along the trail to rest, and bridges to cross with lovely views. There is a giant mount/levee for part of the trail and it provides wonderful sunset views, as well as sledding off of it in the Winter, and kite flying on windy days. There are lots of ducks and birds, and occasionally (but rarely), other animals to see as well. The trail is comfortable for walking for all ages too! I highly recommend it!

Kinda an mix of sparce forest and prairie. Chadron is a nice park with a lot of amenities.

Narrow and somewhat rutted paths... I tried to stay on them for fear of rattlesnakes in the taller grass outside the normal path area and instead I just about sprained my ankles a half dozen times.

Amazing... like you're on another planet when you're there! Bring some shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and that have good traction so you can climb all the cool hills and rocks!

BRING BUG SPRAY! We used 40% Deet and did pretty well against the mosquitos. Anything less that that you might as well just run back to the car!

Beautiful scenery and just a really nicely maintained trail that almost anyone could walk.

Once we got to the top, the views of the surrounding valleys were amazing!

A fun trail that is well maintained and easy enough for anyone to use. The views along the way are great and very picturesque!

It's quaint has a nice lake. No tree or ground fluctuations, the path is paved. Nicely place trash and dog waste containers throughout. Dogs are allowed on leashes! Clean up after your pet so they don't ban them! VERY clean park and trail.

All paved, but there's an actual dirt trail path in the Eastern tree line between Woolworth and Martha, separated by Center. It's the closest you'll get to a trail in midtown.

Boring and short. Views of the city.
