difficult hike if your going to the top bring lots of water.

Trail was a lot of fun with the M probably the most challenging due to the switchbacks and rocks. I accidentally took the outer loop to get to the top but glad I did. On my descent I actually ran most of it until The M - great trail for running.

Beautiful views of Missoula, gently sloping hills. Great for a trail run!

Ran into a BIG ole bear about 1/2 mile into our hike.

This is a really nice hike just outside of town with beautiful views of the hills and a few spots to see the valley below. The trail has a few stretches where it is rocky but a little attention to your steps and no problem. Plenty of others on trail but not overcrowded. There were also a couple trail runners and mountain bikers. Plenty of dogs both on and off leash. My only complaint is that there are plenty of people not picking up after their dogs for the first quarter mile from the trailhead. I’ve seen some places where a few refuse to pay attention or pick up but this one was the worst.

Very nice trail for hiking with family of nearly all abilities, including young children.

This is my favorite uphill trail to hike for a view of the city, especially at sunset.

Easy hiking, with amazing views of Missoula. Highly recommend over the more trafficked letter trails.

This trail was a lot of fun but definitely confusing for a first timer. Not a whole lot of markings and I ended up on the wrong trail headed uphill when I should have been descending back to the trail head. But I’d totally recommend it and do it again!

Great afternoon hike, trail is in great condition. The elevation made for a good work out.

Nice trail, if you start by following the road you are in for a steep climb, going the other way makes the elevation gain more gradual.

Great hike, missed the trail on the way down and had to bushwhack back to find it. If you have binocs, look back down from the summit for a cairn with a red flag marking where the trails ends at the boulder field. That last 1/4 mile is pretty gnarly. Ended up logging 8 miles total.

Just a little past the M is a mine shaft that I’d love to explore in the future. So if you are thinking of hiking it consider bringing a head lamp

This is a great trail that is paved. Leisure walks, dog friendly, bikes, all non-motorized wheeled items.

We had a great time on this trail. The dogs and I enjoyed a nice walk while my two boys enjoyed mountain biking. We dipped our feet into the very cold creek but it was very refreshing. I don’t know how far the boys went on their bikes but the dogs and I went about 1-mile in. The trail is clear and very well maintained. Most people abide by the leash law (dogs on leash until mile 1.7) but all dogs we encountered were very well behaved. The trail can be as long or difficult as you wish to make it.

Hella hard but good view

I love Ravine trail. It’s right by my house so I suppose I might be biased. But I wasn’t expecting such a pretty wooded trail with nice views of Snow Bowl and the adjacent mountains. It’s partly sunny and partly shaded so that’s always pleasant. Pretty good incline in some spots but by no means is it a death march. My favorite aspect is not having to deal with hordes of people and families. It’s fairly quiet back here. Great little trail, sounds like it connects all the way to Rattlesnake!! I can’t wait to hit it harder this fall.

One of the best places for recreation near Missoula. I hike a lot with my dog and the Rattlesnake Creek access really sets this one apart from other local hikes like Blue Mountain or Mount Sentinel. It’s such a long trail I’ve only been back there maybe 5 miles. What we hiked was pretty flat but my dog had a blast romping in the water. It’s a nice easy drive out there.
