Beautiful scenery and perfect for a quick workout!

Easy hike for kids, pretty scenery. A LOT of mosquitoes right now

Nice, short hike. I would not classify this as easy due to the steep trail. Gorgeous views. We went on hottest part of day and saw one deer. Driving road to trail wasn’t bad at this time of year (July). No reception on hike. We did not encounter a single person on the entire trail. I would definitely do this hike again.

Beautiful, easy trail. Great for dogs! If you come to a confusing intersection with other trails, just follow the signs for trail 9.0 and look for the little recreation area logo on the tree.

If you go right along the Sam Braxton turn uphill on the 9.0 trail and then follow the GPS when you get to the loop. Really nice hike. Great vistas.

Nice short walk but the mosquitoes were terrible, had to run the last half of the trail to escape them

Nice hike in town for a little exercise. Not much too it otherwise.

Good to go, all clear! The river trail is clear, although it’s cut about 2 feet back from the flood, which makes it interesting. A little saturated still towards the end, but good! At the big puddle the trail is clear to the left and then you can wade through the small stream after that or you can take the tall grass trail to the right, which I did. The rest of the way is clear. Remember Bug spray!! Not even a spot of mud on my dogs feet!

Great views of Missoula and it’s such a short hike with plenty of nice resting spots that the steady incline isn’t bad.

Beautiful Saturday, warm temps & the Lupine was spectacular & fragrant!

One of my favorite trails near Missoula. AMAZING view of the city and the University of Montana Campus.

Amazing views! Wildflowers were in bloom and provides an excellent splash of color to the already green landscape. The trail provided a great hike on this Memorial Day and has left a lasting impression of the beauty that Missoula has in its vast surroundings. I recommend this trail to anyone that wants a taste of country hiking close to town. Awesome!

Fun little hike. I am guessing this is rated moderate for the uphill portion. The old cabin was cool. Definitely watch out for mountain bikes- there were way more bikers than hikers on the trail today. Some wildflowers. Very pretty.

There is a “No Trespassing” sign posted on the road.

It was a great trail , But it’s very flooded right now . We had to walk around on higher ground several places !!! It has a great view !Nice, easy , Sunday stroll !!!

Today was 77degrees and perfect! I went to the M and continued up to Sentinel. After the M you have a choice at the fork. The left takes you pretty much straight up while the right meanders. I chose left and made it to the top of Sentinel in 52 min, 28 sec. (from the trailhead parking lot). I am 60 years old, climb a lot and found this to be a good workout hike in late May with spectacular views of Missoula, the surrounding mountains and lovely wildflowers. Sticks are super helpful on the steep route up to Sentinel. Afterward I found Caffe Dulce-SCORE!!

Great hike! Portions of the trail were flooded, but that is to be expected this time of the year. Mosquitos were beginning to bite around the water. Had a great time with family on this one!

I went the meadow way first and then down Curry Gulch. The meadow is beautiful and it’s not difficult to hike up the gradual incline.

Great hike for views of Missoula and Bonner once you get to summit. Watching the gliders was pretty fun as well. Trail got by blood pumping and was my first official Montana hike.

This was a great little solo hike that took up about 4 hours of my morning. Sound of the creek was relaxing and gives a opportunity to cool off when needed.

Took my wife and 2 young kids (6 and 10) on this hike and they did fantastic. The second portion of the hike was the most memorable descending along a more exposed mountain side. Highly recommend :)

If your in Missoula for any amount of time it's kinda a must hike. Quick tip for starting the trail is taking the path on the right will bring you to the easier switchback and the left path is a steep ascent up to Sentinel.

I think it’s a trail that’s more interesting for mountain biking. Very little views.

I think this should be classified as easy-moderate. Not many views but it is a nice trail of you want to get out in the woods. Still quite a bit of snow at the top, but I was able to trek through it. I took my shoes off at the gulch because it was too wide to cross over and did not want to get soiled! Also some fallen trees and branch cluster build ups sporadically along the trail. Other than that, great trail!
