easy walk. lots of wildlife. Most of the hike is through brush, so you're 100% exposed to the sun, it can get quite hot. we saw a moose and the ranger said there were also a lot if bears

Easy hike overall. Took our dogs and they loved it. Bring a hammock and snacks and hang at the lake for a while when you get up there! Saw a few little snakes while hiking the trail.

Beautiful terrain but it's a steady climb with lots of shale/rock. I wouldn't take a dog unless it has boots or you keep the hike short.

very very easy nice trail. some nice views along the way. I wouldn't go out of my way to hike it but if you are at the campground go for a walk! nice trail run.

This hike takes you around the cabin creek river where you can view huge mountain rocks, wild flower fields and natural forests. The hike itself is not very strenuous, but there are parts of the path that are pretty narrow.

June 8, 2017: wildflowers out, very pretty. Top half of trail still a bit snowy with several areas of treefall and a few small stream fords. Good time with the kids!

great trail. went early May and it was beautiful, creek is really full and fun to look at. about 2-3 miles in it became impassable due to snow pack though. if you go early I the season like me landslides and trees won't have been cleared yet so it's a little more dangerous than it would be otherwise. But very very beautiful and easy hiking.

Great trail! The trail is Narrow single track for the first 4 miles along a small river. The trail is closed after that due the recent fires from early August and late July 2016. Don't go alone out there. I would definitely not consider it moderately used. Be prepared to get wet early on; there is one knee deep crossing within the first 3/4 mile that you'll have to wade through.

Fishing in Mid-May was good. Using a spin rod and lures was effective. Use silver spoon lures or silver color Rapalas. I was only getting action from Rainbows, but they were all 20+ inches. I recommend using a boat to get into the deeper areas of the lake. If you are coming from out of town, the Marina on the lake will rent steel framed boats with small prop engines for about $30 for 4 hours.
