Did this trail years ago with Wes and Sue. Camped and fished at the lake. Slid down the Glacier in July. I remember the bugs were relentless! Good memories.

Perfect little day hike. Lots to see along the way. In the fall the colors are amazing and it's not very crowded.

Not what I expected. I was looking for a 10 mile hike and thought this was it. When this says it is 5.3 miles I thought the trail would end. There is a small waterfall at about 2.5 miles but the trail continues on after that. If you want to go to the lookout at the top of the mountain it is about 7.3 miles one way that are pretty steep. Since I didn’t know what to expect on this trail I kept going past the waterfall. If you want to see a better waterfall than the one that is directly on the trail, cross the small river and go up the riverbank on the right. There is about a 20 foot waterfall about 2/8 of a mile up the river. The trail does go up at first and then down and then up. The last 4 miles are really steep so be prepared. The view from the top is breathtaking.

Pretty trail, moderate difficulty. Lake is beautiful and has great fishing. I take my out of town family here every visit.

I was disappointed by this hike and we past a couple coming out that stopped hiking after 15 minutes of hiking this trail. The trail was so over grown that it chaffer your legs. You are able to see the creek a few times, but you are mostly on the trail without a lot to look at. We did see fresh bear spore about 45 minutes in and decided to turn around.

steep but worth it

This is pretty much just a workout hike. no destination (lake, mt. view) per the description. At the end, the trail comes to a T intersection with no information where this leads. We passed hikers on our way down that said if you go right at the T for a mile and a half it leads to Jenny Lake and two small Doris Lakes for fishing. That would be useful information to include in the trail description, but that makes it about 5 miles one way to a lake, but at least you can camp and have a destination per se, rather than just a long uphill slog with little in the way of panoramic views. Lots of scat, but no bear/cat sightings. Some huckleberries. Would not do this hike again.

Great hike. Was definitely interesting there was a nudist at the top!!

It was an absolutely beautiful trail. Lots of wildflowers and adorable chipmunks. I only encountered a few people and the lake was small, but completely worth it. The smoke was pretty bad so you couldn't see the valley. However, there were a lot of beautiful things on the trail to keep me distracted. The lake was pretty and a perfect temp to pop in and cool down!
I didn't think it was that hard of a trail. I mean I'm a bit out of shape so I was kind of puffing, but I'm out of shape!

This trail is amazing. We were there yesterday (July 30th 2017) and practically had the lake to ourselves. We probably saw Allison Frueh for a few minutes up there as there was only one other person there. The hike up is beautiful and if you look at the surrounding flora it is gorgeous. Huge patches of wild raspberries and huckleberries. I would not call it monotonous, the forest is gorgeous and the lake was refreshing on a hot day. It was great for our dog with a creek at the beginning and then another one where he could take a sip about 2.5 miles in. I

The trail itself is uninteresting & monotonous, but the lake is beautiful! Clear, cool water perfect for taking a dip. I was at the lake @ 3 o'clock on a Sunday and had the whole place to myself. Good thing, because it is a small lake and not much area to relax on the shore. The nagging flies drove me away prematurely.
I did see a black bear in the berry bushes 10 mins into the hike. He ran away after I told him to

Difficult hike for the weary but an unbelievable view of glacier from a side rarely visited. The trail is not highly trafficked and can be bushy at times. Don't succumb to high hopes on the false summits and when you get to the top you will pat yourself on the back with a big grin. Be very careful crossing road to get to the trail- esp July-august as visitors pour in.

Fun and challenging hike. Lots of huckleberries along the trail. Lots of elevation changes, and lots of flies along the path. The views are occasionally good, but mainly obstructed. The lake is beautiful, but small.

Perfect hike! The trail is in great shape. Amazing views, and best of all, a beautiful lake to swim in at the end. very much worth the work!

Great hike with a few waterfalls along the way. Amazing views of the valley at various points. Hidden waterfalls just off trail that the dog loved to play in. Lots of elevation changes but also had lots of switch backs.

This is a great day hike and some good fishing to boot.

Hiked into Strawberry June 23rd, beautiful sunny day. Trail in great shape & beargrass in full bloom! No scat on trail.

great place to ride snowmobile or UTV, dirt road runs along the West Side of Reservoir with plenty of spots for fishing or camping. Heavy use during the summer months.

Great hike, Ive been on this trail several times and enjoyed each time. This trail has a lot of switchbacks and steep sections. Hiking up to the top and seeing the lake is well worth the hike. Watch out for the bears along this trail ...
