Great Falls, Montana Map

Good as a trail can be in Great Falls. Didnt do the wholenpath and some parts seemed much prettier from pictures. Worth a walk along if you want to get outside!

Decent path but more of a walking path than hiking trail. Reccomend starting around the dam then going towards the state park. Otherwise you're walking mostly behind buildings and roadside.

Compared to other hiked I have done, this is more like a 1 star. I am rating this based on the expectation I had for it as I knew it was an in town hike.

Nice easy walk on paved surfaces along the river. In mid June there were fragrant plants growing and the aroma was very nice. Plenty of benches spaced around and even a few pit toilets.

Great hiking, biking, trail running path. Was going to go for the entire 4 miles but a guy and his two unleashed big dogs were roaming around. I decided to turn around instead; didn't want any issues with him. Great run area.

Tough day due to the length, but fun.

The trail is ok as far as in town hiking. The trail is in no way, shape, or form moderately difficult. its completely paved for crying out loud.

Love the trail. One of Great Falls, MT's better features.

It's nice to see the other side of the river offers some nice views of the city and there are plenty of birds that dwell on this side versus the other side. I'd almost call one feature on this side "bird island" if someone hasn't called it that already. Again, it's a nice walk/bike trip to get outside and exercise without a lot of heavy traffic.

See Eagles soar and raging waters at this location. Fun outing for the kids. Cool bridge to cross. Even a place to have a cook off for friends and family!

Nice workout to run on the trail or bike on. Never overcrowded yet many walks of life can be seen on the trails. Plenty of birds to watch. Be mindful of bugs/nats as you get closer to the river, especially in the summertime.

Saw wildlife every time. Saw a beautiful owl and hawk this time. Walked out onto the little boardwalk. Was cold, but gorgeous.

Great asset Great Falls

This is a nice family-friendly, dog-friendly easy walking trail just outside the city. An easy to get-to “must see” for Great Falls. Paved trail along the river, goes between the dam and Giant Springs state park.

Great afternoon outing. Trails are not person or car specific so you can choose either. Highly recommend driving and heading out onto the boardwalk.

We weren’t exactly sure where to park so we just went to the loop. Was pretty. Dog enjoyed it. Several dead birds on the trail. Nice change close to town

Pelicans, Rainbow trout, Giant springs; Great trail for all ages. Bugs will pester you and become part of your diet really quickly.

had planned to walk this with my kids, but the weather didn't cooperate and when we got there we saw a sign advising us that we are in bear country and bear spray was recommended. I would have brought some had i known this sooner. so we drove instead. we mostly saw ducks and just a few other birds. the wildflowers were pretty. we're did walk out on the boardwalk and my kids saw an otter they said. the visitors center was closed due to staffing issues.

Nice paved walking trail. Plenty of wildlife, good spot for bird watchers. Fun to see the trout. Beautiful views of the river.

Great walking trail. Fun to see the fish in the hatchery. Very high traffic and lots of wind.

Easy access and a great spot for bird watchers!! The trail runs along the Missouri River and is paved 100% of the way.

The view of the falls and dam plus all the. Birds around make it worth the walk

This is good for seeing a variety of birds. My family and I saw snow geese, a prairie falcon, and plenty of loons.

Tons of wildlife. Nice walk, little bit swampy like during spring/summer though (bring the bug spray!)

Didn't hike just drove through. saw an owl and coyote.

For more information go to http://thetrail.org/ or the Face Book page. The official start of the trail is in Broadwater Bay park but, it can be accessed in many places. There are even a few hotels along the river and the trail goes by them so, it can be a great place to unwind at the end of the day. A lot of the trail is paved but, on the East end past Rainbow Falls it turns to dirt and is a great place to mountain bike. Take water and snacks as there are no facilities once you go past Giant Springs Park. On the West side there is a nice view of Great Falls from West Bank part. This is a wonderful trail to walk or bike

great trail to walk or bike on very scenic and nice
