Wouldn't really call this a hike. More of a simple walk. Still fun though.

easy hike but not flowing well in middle of September

We thought this was a great hike in May and we saw the Steamboat Geyser eruption on the way up.

Crowded, touristy and lots of bathers in the water at the end. Eh.

Love mammoth area

Easy quick hike, says it’s a mile but really 3/4 of a mile. Bridge was rotting with several areas broken thru boardwalk . These broken areas clearly visible when walking on the boardwalk. As with many trials in Yellowstone it is not well maintained. We saw a small herd of elk eating down by the creek. Short and sweet, good for all levels. There are some stairs to the falls but there is a hand rail and this area appears to be in good repair.

A walk not a hike! Expect to not go at your pace as your walking with many others. However; it leads you to the end destination of a “soak”.

Fairly strenuous hike with mediocre views and a boring thermal area at the top.

This isn't really a hiking trail, you drive right up to the basalt columns. I am a geologist so I rate it high because you can get right up to the columns.

Short & very easy (flat). Worth the time to see. Good hangout for marmots too.

The trail looks amazing but it is shut down right now due to high water :( disappointment!!

If you consider this a hike with the view as the payoff it is worth the effort, if you are going for the thermal activity there are better attractions that are much easier to get to.

Easy hike, great for young kids. I think there are better waterfall hikes in the park that are just as easy.

Loved It. Amazing area

Hiked up this trail with my family. Trail runs beside the river for the first half mile before heading up. The “heading up” got my heart rate going. There isn’t a lot of a thermal activity at the top, but the views were well worth the effort.

It's a rugged little trail, not on the park maps, created by fishermen and adventurous hikers. Beautiful roaring falls, one of my favorite. Please stay away...

Super easy hike with a great reward! Would recommend to anyone!

Easy little walk to the Boiling River. Such a fun time. Read my blog post (https://www.brisul.com/blog/2018/1/15/boiling-river-yellowstone-national-park) and watch my vlog (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E-06iSXOUc&t=5s)

PS you have to pay to get into Yellowstone Park to get to this area.

Still covered with hard packed snow but can be easily navigated. Geysers are underwhelming but the views of the canyon are worth it when you get to the top.

Beautiful and quick trail if you're en route from Tower Falls area to Mammoth. Quick hike to Wraith Falls, Enjoy a small spray of water, and all the chipmunks everywhere! Shaded trail for most of the way.

beautiful views but still completely covered in snow. there's already tracks so it won't be too difficult. it was kinda fun running down in all the snow.

Incredible trail... backpacked it May 2017...plenty of wildlife, spectacular views, and challenging climbs... highly recommend this Trail.

Groomed and lovely hike. We were alone for most of the hike, a first for any of our Yellowstone visits. The thermal features aren't much to see since everything was covered in feet of snow.

Worth the hike

Nice waterfall and worth getting out of the car real quick but I would see other things first like brink of lower falls. Easy and quick hike for sure.

We walked this with about 4 inches of snow in the ground, making the whole area seem very surreal and beautiful to observe, would suggest you do the entire loop to see all the features of this area.

If you're looking for a challenging trail with some interesting views but no real reward at the end, this is the trail for you. I wouldn't say that I was disappointed with the trail as a whole, but it definitely did not live up to my expectations.
