About a 45min drive off the highway for one heck of a beautiful hike. The trail starts out fairly unchallenging and then eases you into 14 switchbacks that walk you above and beside Glacier Lake. The views are just getting started at this point. You can see the wall of the Swan mountain range behind you and glimpses of waterfalls fed by Lace lake which is fed by Turquoise Lake in front of you. Once at the top of the ridge you begin to descend, eventually reaching Lagoon Lake, (don’t be fooled into thinking you have made it).Lagoon lake is stunning and where we decided to pitch camp for the night, however, to reach Turquoise you have to go about another 3/4 of a mile downwards, then up to find it. We dropped our packs and then headed on down to turquoise lake to enjoy the sunrise the following morning. There is a bit of snow once you reach your highest elevations but nothing hike ruining at this point. There will definitely not be many more weekends to enjoy this magical place, so get her done while you can :)!

Very nice hike - no bugs and almost no people. Went a mile beyond maintained trail. Next time I'd go early and try for the mission range ridge.

Great hike. Do it every year

Easy and kid friendly hike. Falls are beautiful and you can hike right up to them. The views of the lake and Mission mountains are fantastic. Can be crowded.

Beautiful hike, and the falls and views are stunning.

Fabulous hike

Falls were gorgeous

Beautiful & a good steady climb. New favorite!

Great views! 6 to 6.5 miles to Turquoise Lake. Many huckleberries along the trail. The switchbacks are pretty gradual as you head up. Lots of goats!! Thunderstormed all night long, but waking up in such a beautiful place made it all worth it.

This Trail exceeded my expectations! My 4 and 5 year old were able to do it, and it was about 90 degrees out! definitely a kid-friendly Trail! If its hot, encourage them by letting them know two small Creeks cross the trail along your way and there are plenty of opportunities to jump in the lake as well. If it's a sunny day, this Trail sees a lot of sun quite often so make sure to bring sunscreen and bug spray! The trail is wide and beautiful the entire way up. I'll be back for sure. It is a gorgeous hike!!

Beautiful surroundings. Pretty steep uphill for a good portion. Easy way back, but be prepared for lots of bugs!

Bring a fishing pole!

Canoeing on holland lake is near impossible to beat. We went at the end of may and we got a quiet lake front camp spot that was perfect.

Amazing scenery once you get on the trail. Last bit includes some loose rocks and can have a bit of water run off, so be careful.

Okay, so I'd give it a 4.5 if you go on a weekday on an off week. Good hike with a few beautiful vista lookouts on the way up to the lakes. Defiantly worth the hike!

It was a great little hike. Very accessible for families! Beautiful views of the mission mountains and holland Lake the entire trail. Couldn't of asked for a better way to end memorial weekend!

Beautiful and fun! quite a few people and lots of dogs.

Beautiful walk! We were there on Memorial weekend though and the trail was pretty crowded.

Easy hike that always rewards with incredible views.

very easy walk to the falls.

Great hike! I traversed this trail in mid-April. The trail conditions were spectacular, with no snow on the trails, and the trails were dry and firm. The scenery is amazing, and the falls are well worth the little bit of elevation gain.

Easy hike with rewarding views :) The trail can get pretty busy in the summer, but still enjoyable! The waterfall varies in size due to ice melt off of the mountains, but you still get a spectacular view of Holland Lake and most of Swan Valley!

I'm from MT, so this would definitely be considered an easy trail (from Lodge to Lower Holland Falls), but folks from other states (or with minimal experience hiking) may find this trail more "moderate". Even so, the trail is well-travelled, so there's no guessing where it may lead. The last quarter-mile up to the falls does have a more steep incline and is quite rocky, so step lively! Bring a camera for some breathtaking views of and from the Falls.
