Did ridge runner north loop before connecting to Ozark trail. The trail was washed out badly in multiple places, you will have to search good for the other side of the trail in those places. Trail dips into thick briar patches and stinging nettle patches at times. Scenery is ok. Upside: if you camp out there the stars are nice and the coyotes/owls are nice to listen to.

river perfect but beware if you own personal equipment the private campgrounds and canoe outfitters will refuse your business and try to make your life rough

One of my favorite canoeing rivers in southern MO. The traffic was lite the last time we went.

Gorgeous area!

There is a sign at the trail head that says this trail is closed.

Lots of people here when it's warm.

I have floated here many times. Go in the winter. Summer months are crowded there are a lot of canoe outfitters here. They can help you plan your trip.

River has best class I & II water in the state. primitive camping allowed but sand bars and beaches are far and few between. Camp early or you might get caught canoeing after dark.

Nice river. Good Class I & II water. I caught the water just after a spring rain and was able to put in at 76 hiway, a rarity. Great float. Very view sand bars. Primitive camping opportunities are slim, so choose early or you will be kayaking in the dark.

This is by far my favorite missouri river! very clean! no portaging necessarry! just a great trip! lots of springs! lots of wildlife! low traffic!
