Easy trail for small children. Playgrounds and Restrooms are available. Good for kids and pets.

Beautifully built trail along historic Forest Park. Give yourself plenty of time to explore. The Jewel Box is at the end of the park, and further along you hit the Zoo. Great trail, easy for children and pets. It gets congested early, and be warned there will be a LOT of people. Its not a wilderness hiking trail; it's the main path through Forest Park. However, it's terrific for jogging, biking, and running/walking. You can meander off the path and find little spots for peace and relaxation. All the museums are free, Art and History plus Science Center. This path will lead you to each however it does not lead to the Arch. You have to take a different trail to that but all the Museums can be accessed by this trail.

I love this trail to run on. It’s quiet, not crazy busy and it’s pretty throughout most of the year!

A great trail for walking, biking, etc. there are so many ways you can allow yourself to “get lost” wandering through the park. Or, choose to stay on the main path. Easy to follow. Water bottle refilling stations are along the trail. It is most congested along the north side of the park/trail.

I really love the walking trails in this park. You can hit the pave trail or the gravel trail. I like that you can really get a nice work out (walking). There are a lot of hills through out the park that makes your work out a little different than just walking a flat trail. Depending on the time that you go (or if there is an event in the park) it can get a little congested. I like going early in the morning. But whenever you go, you will enjoy yourself.

Easy and fun! Lots to look at and interact with. Has a nice paved trail but also more of a woodsy trail all with fun sculptures. Very cool.

Easy walking path. Not much to look at when you’re not by the river. Would be a nice bike path.

The trails you know and love are still here! You just have to get to them. Come hike them! At first I thought they ruined the trails. They didn’t. The people who said they ripped the trails out are mistaken. They did not rip them out. They are both still nestled in the woods where they were. The other reviewer that said this is not the place for natural trails is also mistaken. Take the lower trail head to just last the cave. On the left there is a drain, before the bridge, the trail starts there. You can also find it in a few other places along the paved path.

Easy trail, loved the ruins of the fort. Very pretty area, interesting history.

really pretty! loved it

Please come home these trails again! We need to hike it before they over grow. I would recommend parking at the lower trail head. I made the mistake of parking at the upper. It’s a hot walk back up. Park at the lower trail head and stick to the path. Once you pass the cave and before you hit the bridge, you will see a drain to your left. There starts the path to the inner and outer trails. Wear bug spray!

Lots of fun things to look at and discuss while walking/hiking.

Quick hike on a humid spring day. Lots of shade and greenery. A little much for my small dog but we made it through

Great place to walk, run or bike.

Nice park but not user friendly. Signs are not very clear. But really cool old forts and nice area for dogs . By the river

Great stuff with the kids well maintained easy trails with art!!!

Great place for a short hike with wide easy to follow paths for small kids or those less able but the park also has some great trails back in the woods that are well worth exploring. It's a relatively small park so don't expect endless miles of hiking.

Cool art work but not a hike. Fun for a once and a while walk through.

Tourists and residents alike I suggest getting a Forest Park Guide book or read on the history of the park/area before embarking on park exploration, this will make the experience more enriching.

A nice, flat pavement for a run, walk, or bike ride as short or as long as you’d like! 60 degree weather in January made this perfect today.
