Was a fairly easy trail. Had a great time by the creek, kids took shoes off and played in the creek. Logs in the water made it easy to cross. Looking forward to hiking this when all the trees get leaves back.

I hiked this trail counterclockwise. There was rain yesterday and last night but the trail was mostly dry with very little mud or standing water. There are many cross trails to explore or to use as a short cut in or out.

The trail is an easy walk and paved the whole way. There are nice river views. The trail is very sunny and meant even in 60 degree weather we were very warm. Nice for dogs, but would probably be too hot on their feet in warmer weather.

Paved trail, moderate elevation, beautiful! Take time to go inside the facility and check out the educational displays, including a working bee hive and native aquarium! Amazing!

this trail had a lot of twisting around and a lot of up and down climbs. it wasn't the best marked. there were spots where a trail sign would have been appreciated, but not too bad. I would recommend using it with the AllTrails app to keep you on the right path. all in all though I loved it! challenging, but not too challenging. beautiful scenery, the path basically walks you around a lake the whole time, which is cool. You see lots of Elk and Deer during the hike, which was amazing.

Great trail for running

Beautiful city park. Our favorite in St. Louis.

Scenic, easy, and well maintained.

all paved, a couple cut throughs that aren’t. nice place to spend some time. lots of playgrounds, benches, trash cans, and dog bags scattered along the trail as well.

The trail was just perfect for the beautiful Sunday. I had only couple of hours for walking today and this trail was just right distance to do that. There were no bikers which also was nice.
Would be nice if all Spring flowers bloom but I guess it was too early for the Spring flowers. Plan to go back next month.

Love this park. I live near by and always enjoy walking its paths.

This is a decent place to walk or run if you just want something that isn’t paved with some trees. Not really hiking though. You can hear the cars and see buildings from the trail. But overall it’s pretty for being in the city.

Can't miss Elk view

Easy trail, and even though it winds past developed areas it feels private. Very nice.

easy walking trail, but the giant casino kind of ruins the mood for me.

I never knew this trail was here and it was a nice little surprise. I clocked 6.6 miles at 2 hours and 50 minutes and that’s with some exploring. I managed to find 5 deer skulls, a bunch of ribs, hips, and vertebrae off trail. The trail itself is pretty flat once you get to it. The Chubb Trail to is is all downhill and then pretty steep uphill on the way back. Would like to check it out again in the spring but fear it’ll be dreadful if it’s too hot as there’s very little shade.

great hike to walk on a nice day.

Great dog trail. Sandy along the river and gives good views of the river and confluence. Gets very hot in the summer as do most places in MO. Enjoy this hike because of close drive, not too crowded, and good variety of paved and sandy trails.

This is a neat place to hike. It looks like there are quite a few places where you can go down other out and back trails to get a little more distance in.

Sandwiched between the Ruth Park Golf course and the asian restaurant strip on Olive, Ruth Park Wood can be accessed from both the McKnight and 81st Street sides. The River Des Peres runs parallel with a portion of the trail.

The trail has a gravel base and is shaded by some nice mature tree species. There are several benches and many informative tree markers along the trail as well as a picnic shelter. Unfortunately trail maintenance can use some effort and the wood’s ground is overrun with euonymus.

It’s a nice short hike and possibly a good birding hotspot during migration season. I have often seen many interesting species while playing the adjacent golf course.

looks like it might be a really great nice easy trail but the river's too hot water over I could make it got about 2 miles in mile and a half or so
