Grotpeter was good, heavy leaf coverage and some rocky, washed out uphill/downhill sections. For an early morning Sunday in December the trail traffic was light but still busier than I thought.

White Bison Trail in Lone Elm Park is an awesome hike. I encountered many elk on the trail...ON the actual trail. This is why my recording looks crazy. I had to go off trail to avoid elk. This is a fun hike and it keeps you focused and present.

Nice trail!!! Creek views, river views and the old park structures are neat. good little hike. I'd call it easy. I did have a bit of a hard time finding the start of the trail. I walked down the gravel road and looped around past the police dog training site. no trail. so I did it again and found on the far side of the little pond there was a bench and what looked like a trail. there was a gate over it. I started walking down that way and sure enough, it was the trail. no other issues.

Very nice trail around the large lake. Heavily trafficked

The trailhead wasn't the easiest to find but it was a great quick hike

Relatively easy hike except for the creek crossing. We came within 20 feet from some deer who were very content eating while we took pictures.

Nice solo hike - easy to follow and right along the river. Muddy but manageable. Really neat to see all of the structures. Will be back!

even on a rainy day this was a great hike. pretty well marked and saw several elk and deer.

best trail I've been on in st Louis. scenic. elk all over and friendly.

The Archgrounds and riverfront are a great place for some easy, scenic jogging. Great scenery if it is a nice day. You can watch this video I recorded of a run here to get the idea of what to expect https://youtu.be/MOnz3tDDCkM

There are no trail markers and a lot of paths that lead to dead ends. It seemed like the app map has you going on the interstate to walk. The rocks are cool though!

2.5 miles - inner loop winds in the middle and got turned around a couple times!

The part I didn’t like was it ran parallel a service road.

I love this park

This trail falls somewhere in between a hike and a park trail. It’s a mix of graveled and dirt trails through the recreation area. Has nice views of the pond and a scenic river overlook. Plenty of people out and about but it never felt crowded. Definitely animal friendly, it’s a great area to let the dogs burn off a little energy.

I myself didnt really like it because there were too many bugs trying to attack me. For this reason I had to use my jacket and cover myself. I didnt really like jt but you might

Lots of leaves- tough trail run conditions. But beautiful!

Nice wide paved trail with some small hills.

I enjoyed this in & out of the woods hike. It’s not the paved loop if you feel like a change.

Wonderful hike around the lake. This is the best time of year to hike here as the leaves changing makes for gorgeous scenery!

Great trail for being so close to St. Louis. Huge Elk right on the trail to see.

10/27/2019, Sunday, 65 degrees, sunny. Nice, relatively easy trail. We found 1/4 mile of rocks 3-5” the only distraction to this trail. Simple trail, unremarkable. We found the fall colors nice. Even though day prior rained 12 hours we experienced only 6-10 large puddles which we were able to avoid. Other info: 15 hikers, saw two bikers, one horse poop pile, no spider webs, no ticks, no skeeters, one “washout” area, best marked trail (of 15-ish) we’ve experienced, emergency locator markers. We’re 50 and fit, completed in 1:45 minutes.

Loved this trail! Seen so many deer couldn’t count and probably 10-15 elk. Loved the varying terrain all within a little over 3 mile loop. A must if your in the area!

Good trail - paved but a bit slippery when wet.

Loud because of highways otherwise ok. Not scenic
